וְ/אֵ֣לֶּה בְּנֵ֣י הַ/מְּדִינָ֗ה הָֽ/עֹלִים֙ מִ/שְּׁבִ֣י הַ/גּוֹלָ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר הֶגְלָ֛ה נבוכדנצור נְבוּכַדְנֶצַּ֥ר מֶֽלֶךְ בָּבֶ֖ל לְ/בָבֶ֑ל וַ/יָּשׁ֛וּבוּ לִ/ירוּשָׁלִַ֥ם וִֽ/יהוּדָ֖ה אִ֥ישׁ לְ/עִירֽ/וֹ

Now these {are} the children of the province that went up out of the captivity, of those which had been carried away, whom Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon had carried away unto Babylon, and came again unto Jerusalem and Judah, every one unto his city;

وَهَؤُلَاءِ هُمْ بَنُو ٱلْكُورَةِ ٱلصَّاعِدُونَ مِنْ سَبْيِ ٱلْمَسْبِيِّينَ، ٱلَّذِينَ سَبَاهُمْ نَبُوخَذْنَاصَّرُ مَلِكُ بَابِلَ إِلَى بَابِلَ، وَرَجَعُوا إِلَى أُورُشَلِيمَ وَيَهُوذَا، كُلُّ وَاحِدٍ إِلَى مَدِينَتِهِ.

אֲשֶׁר בָּ֣אוּ עִם זְרֻבָּבֶ֗ל יֵשׁ֡וּעַ נְ֠חֶמְיָה שְׂרָיָ֨ה רְֽעֵלָיָ֜ה מָרְדֳּכַ֥י בִּלְשָׁ֛ן מִסְפָּ֥ר בִּגְוַ֖י רְח֣וּם בַּעֲנָ֑ה מִסְפַּ֕ר אַנְשֵׁ֖י עַ֥ם יִשְׂרָאֵֽל

Which came with Zerubbabel: Jeshua, Nehemiah, Seraiah, Reelaiah, Mordecai, Bilshan, Mispar, Bigvai, Rehum, Baanah. The number of the men of the people of Israel: {Seraiah: also called, Azariah} {Reelaiah: or, Raamiah} {Mispar: or, Mispereth} {Rehum: or, Nehum}

ٱلَّذِينَ جَاءُوا مَعَ زَرُبَّابِلَ، يَشُوعُ، نَحَمْيَا، سَرَايَا، رَعْلَايَا، مُرْدَخَايُ، بِلْشَانُ، مِسْفَارُ، بِغْوَايُ، رَحُومُ، بَعْنَةَ. عَدَدُ رِجَالِ شَعْبِ إِسْرَائِيلَ:

בְּנֵ֣י פַרְעֹ֔שׁ אַלְפַּ֕יִם מֵאָ֖ה שִׁבְעִ֥ים וּ/שְׁנָֽיִם

The children of Parosh, two thousand an hundred seventy and two.

بَنُو فَرْعُوشَ أَلْفَانِ وَمِئَةٌ وَٱثْنَانِ وَسَبْعُونَ.

בְּנֵ֣י שְׁפַטְיָ֔ה שְׁלֹ֥שׁ מֵא֖וֹת שִׁבְעִ֥ים וּ/שְׁנָֽיִם

The children of Shephatiah, three hundred seventy and two.

بَنُو شَفَطْيَا ثَلَاثُ مِئَةٍ وَٱثْنَانِ وَسَبْعُونَ.

בְּנֵ֣י אָרַ֔ח שְׁבַ֥ע מֵא֖וֹת חֲמִשָּׁ֥ה וְ/שִׁבְעִֽים

The children of Arah, seven hundred seventy and five.

بَنُو آرَحَ سَبْعُ مِئَةٍ وَخَمْسَةٌ وَسَبْعُونَ.

בְּנֵֽי פַחַ֥ת מוֹאָ֛ב לִ/בְנֵ֥י יֵשׁ֖וּעַ יוֹאָ֑ב אַלְפַּ֕יִם שְׁמֹנֶ֥ה מֵא֖וֹת וּ/שְׁנֵ֥ים עָשָֽׂר

The children of Pahathmoab, of the children of Jeshua {and} Joab, two thousand eight hundred and twelve.

بَنُو فَحَثَ مُوآبَ مِنْ بَنِي يَشُوعَ وَيُوآبَ أَلْفَانِ وَثَمَانُ مِئَةٍ وَٱثْنَا عَشَرَ.

בְּנֵ֣י עֵילָ֔ם אֶ֕לֶף מָאתַ֖יִם חֲמִשִּׁ֥ים וְ/אַרְבָּעָֽה

The children of Elam, a thousand two hundred fifty and four.

بَنُو عِيلَامَ أَلْفٌ وَمِئَتَانِ وَأَرْبَعَةٌ وَخَمْسُونَ.

בְּנֵ֣י זַתּ֔וּא תְּשַׁ֥ע מֵא֖וֹת וְ/אַרְבָּעִ֥ים וַ/חֲמִשָּֽׁה

The children of Zattu, nine hundred forty and five.

بَنُو زَتُّو تِسْعُ مِئَةٍ وَخَمْسَةٌ وَأَرْبَعُونَ.

בְּנֵ֣י זַכָּ֔י שְׁבַ֥ע מֵא֖וֹת וְ/שִׁשִּֽׁים

The children of Zaccai, seven hundred and threescore.

بَنُو زَكَّايَ سَبْعُ مِئَةٍ وَسِتُّونَ.

בְּנֵ֣י בָנִ֔י שֵׁ֥שׁ מֵא֖וֹת אַרְבָּעִ֥ים וּ/שְׁנָֽיִם

The children of Bani, six hundred forty and two. {Bani: also called, Binnui}

بَنُو بَانِي سِتُّ مِئَةٍ وَٱثْنَانِ وَأَرْبَعُونَ.

בְּנֵ֣י בֵבָ֔י שֵׁ֥שׁ מֵא֖וֹת עֶשְׂרִ֥ים וּ/שְׁלֹשָֽׁה

The children of Bebai, six hundred twenty and three.

بَنُو بَابَايَ سِتُّ مِئَةٍ وَثَلَاثَةٌ وَعِشْرُونَ.

בְּנֵ֣י עַזְגָּ֔ד אֶ֕לֶף מָאתַ֖יִם עֶשְׂרִ֥ים וּ/שְׁנָֽיִם

The children of Azgad, a thousand two hundred twenty and two.

بَنُو عَرْجَدَ أَلْفٌ وَمِئَتَانِ وَٱثْنَانِ وَعِشْرُونَ.

בְּנֵי֙ אֲדֹ֣נִיקָ֔ם שֵׁ֥שׁ מֵא֖וֹת שִׁשִּׁ֥ים וְ/שִׁשָּֽׁה

The children of Adonikam, six hundred sixty and six.

بَنُو أَدُونِيقَامَ سِتُّ مِئَةٍ وَسِتَّةٌ وَسِتُّونَ.

בְּנֵ֣י בִגְוָ֔י אַלְפַּ֖יִם חֲמִשִּׁ֥ים וְ/שִׁשָּֽׁה

The children of Bigvai, two thousand fifty and six.

بَنُو بِغْوَايَ أَلْفَانِ وَسِتَّةٌ وَخَمْسُونَ.

בְּנֵ֣י עָדִ֔ין אַרְבַּ֥ע מֵא֖וֹת חֲמִשִּׁ֥ים וְ/אַרְבָּעָֽה

The children of Adin, four hundred fifty and four.

بَنُو عَادِينَ أَرْبَعُ مِئَةٍ وَأَرْبَعَةٌ وَخَمْسُونَ.

בְּנֵֽי אָטֵ֥ר לִֽ/יחִזְקִיָּ֖ה תִּשְׁעִ֥ים וּ/שְׁמֹנָֽה

16

The children of Ater of Hezekiah, ninety and eight.

بَنُو آطِيرَ مِنْ يَحَزَقِيَّا ثَمَانِيَةٌ وَتِسْعُونَ.

בְּנֵ֣י בֵצָ֔י שְׁלֹ֥שׁ מֵא֖וֹת עֶשְׂרִ֥ים וּ/שְׁלֹשָֽׁה

17

The children of Bezai, three hundred twenty and three.

بَنُو بِيصَايَ ثَلَاثُ مِئَةٍ وَثَلَاثَةٌ وَعِشْرُونَ.

בְּנֵ֣י יוֹרָ֔ה מֵאָ֖ה וּ/שְׁנֵ֥ים עָשָֽׂר

The children of Jorah, an hundred and twelve. {Jorah: also called, Hariph}

بَنُو يُورَةَ مِئَةٌ وَٱثْنَا عَشَرَ.

בְּנֵ֣י חָשֻׁ֔ם מָאתַ֖יִם עֶשְׂרִ֥ים וּ/שְׁלֹשָֽׁה

The children of Hashum, two hundred twenty and three.

بَنُو حَشُومَ مِئَتَانِ وَثَلَاثَةٌ وَعِشْرُونَ.

בְּנֵ֥י גִבָּ֖ר תִּשְׁעִ֥ים וַ/חֲמִשָּֽׁה

The children of Gibbar, ninety and five. {Gibbar: also called, Gibeon}

بَنُو جِبَّارَ خَمْسَةٌ وَتِسْعُونَ.

בְּנֵ֣י בֵֽית לָ֔חֶם מֵאָ֖ה עֶשְׂרִ֥ים וּ/שְׁלֹשָֽׁה

The children of Bethlehem, an hundred twenty and three.

بَنُو بَيْتِ لَحْمٍ مِئَةٌ وَثَلَاثَةٌ وَعِشْرُونَ.

אַנְשֵׁ֥י נְטֹפָ֖ה חֲמִשִּׁ֥ים וְ/שִׁשָּֽׁה

The men of Netophah, fifty and six.

رِجَالُ نَطُوفَةَ سِتَّةٌ وَخَمْسُونَ.

אַנְשֵׁ֣י עֲנָת֔וֹת מֵאָ֖ה עֶשְׂרִ֥ים וּ/שְׁמֹנָֽה

The men of Anathoth, an hundred twenty and eight.

رِجَالُ عَنَاثُوثَ مِئَةٌ وَثَمَانِيَةٌ وَعِشْرُونَ.

בְּנֵ֥י עַזְמָ֖וֶת אַרְבָּעִ֥ים וּ/שְׁנָֽיִם

24

The children of Azmaveth, forty and two. {Azmaveth: also called, Bethazmaveth}

بَنُو عَزْمُوتَ ٱثْنَانِ وَأَرْبَعُونَ.

בְּנֵ֨י קִרְיַ֤ת עָרִים֙ כְּפִירָ֣ה וּ/בְאֵר֔וֹת שְׁבַ֥ע מֵא֖וֹת וְ/אַרְבָּעִ֥ים וּ/שְׁלֹשָֽׁה

25

The children of Kirjatharim, Chephirah, and Beeroth, seven hundred and forty and three.

بَنُو قَرْيَةِ عَارِيمَ كَفِيرَةَ وَبَئِيرُوتَ سَبْعُ مِئَةٍ وَثَلَاثَةٌ وَأَرْبَعُونَ.

בְּנֵ֤י הָ/רָמָה֙ וָ/גָ֔בַע שֵׁ֥שׁ מֵא֖וֹת עֶשְׂרִ֥ים וְ/אֶחָֽד

26

The children of Ramah and Gaba, six hundred twenty and one.

بَنُو ٱلرَّامَةِ وَجَبَعَ سِتُّ مِئَةٍ وَوَاحِدٌ وَعِشْرُونَ.

אַנְשֵׁ֣י מִכְמָ֔ס מֵאָ֖ה עֶשְׂרִ֥ים וּ/שְׁנָֽיִם

27

The men of Michmas, an hundred twenty and two.

رِجَالُ مِخْمَاسَ مِئَةٌ وَٱثْنَانِ وَعِشْرُونَ.

אַנְשֵׁ֤י בֵֽית אֵל֙ וְ/הָ/עָ֔י מָאתַ֖יִם עֶשְׂרִ֥ים וּ/שְׁלֹשָֽׁה

28

The men of Bethel and Ai, two hundred twenty and three.

رِجَالُ بَيْتِ إِيلَ وَعَايَ مِئَتَانِ وَثَلَاثَةٌ وَعِشْرُونَ.

בְּנֵ֥י נְב֖וֹ חֲמִשִּׁ֥ים וּ/שְׁנָֽיִם

The children of Nebo, fifty and two.

بَنُو نَبُو ٱثْنَانِ وَخَمْسُونَ.

בְּנֵ֣י מַגְבִּ֔ישׁ מֵאָ֖ה חֲמִשִּׁ֥ים וְ/שִׁשָּֽׁה

30

The children of Magbish, an hundred fifty and six.

بَنُو مَغْبِيشَ مِئَةٌ وَسِتَّةٌ وَخَمْسُونَ.

בְּנֵי֙ עֵילָ֣ם אַחֵ֔ר אֶ֕לֶף מָאתַ֖יִם חֲמִשִּׁ֥ים וְ/אַרְבָּעָֽה

31

The children of the other Elam, a thousand two hundred fifty and four.

بَنُو عِيلَامَ ٱلْآخَرِ أَلْفٌ وَمِئَتَانِ وَأَرْبَعَةٌ وَخَمْسُونَ.

בְּנֵ֣י חָרִ֔ם שְׁלֹ֥שׁ מֵא֖וֹת וְ/עֶשְׂרִֽים

32

The children of Harim, three hundred and twenty.

بَنُو حَارِيمَ ثَلَاثُ مِئَةٍ وَعِشْرُونَ.

בְּנֵי לֹד֙ חָדִ֣יד וְ/אוֹנ֔וֹ שְׁבַ֥ע מֵא֖וֹת עֶשְׂרִ֥ים וַ/חֲמִשָּֽׁה

33

The children of Lod, Hadid, and Ono, seven hundred twenty and five. {Hadid: or, Harid, as it is in some copies}

بَنُو لُودَ بَنُو حَادِيدَ وَأُونُو سَبْعُ مِئَةٍ وَخَمْسَةٌ وَعِشْرُونَ.

בְּנֵ֣י יְרֵח֔וֹ שְׁלֹ֥שׁ מֵא֖וֹת אַרְבָּעִ֥ים וַ/חֲמִשָּֽׁה

34

The children of Jericho, three hundred forty and five.

بَنُو أَرِيحَا ثَلَاثُ مِئَةٍ وَخَمْسَةٌ وَأَرْبَعُونَ.

בְּנֵ֣י סְנָאָ֔ה שְׁלֹ֣שֶׁת אֲלָפִ֔ים וְ/שֵׁ֥שׁ מֵא֖וֹת וּ/שְׁלֹשִֽׁים

35

The children of Senaah, three thousand and six hundred and thirty.

بَنُو سَنَاءَةَ ثَلَاثَةُ آلَافٍ وَسِتُّ مِئَةٍ وَثَلَاثُونَ.

הַֽ/כֹּהֲנִ֑ים בְּנֵ֤י יְדַֽעְיָה֙ לְ/בֵ֣ית יֵשׁ֔וּעַ תְּשַׁ֥ע מֵא֖וֹת שִׁבְעִ֥ים וּ/שְׁלֹשָֽׁה

36

The priests: the children of Jedaiah, of the house of Jeshua, nine hundred seventy and three.

أَمَّا ٱلْكَهَنَةُ: فَبَنُو يَدْعِيَا مِنْ بَيْتِ يَشُوعَ تِسْعُ مِئَةٍ وَثَلَاثَةٌ وَسَبْعُونَ.

בְּנֵ֣י אִמֵּ֔ר אֶ֖לֶף חֲמִשִּׁ֥ים וּ/שְׁנָֽיִם

37

The children of Immer, a thousand fifty and two.

بَنُو إِمِّيرَ أَلْفٌ وَٱثْنَانِ وَخَمْسُونَ.

בְּנֵ֣י פַשְׁח֔וּר אֶ֕לֶף מָאתַ֖יִם אַרְבָּעִ֥ים וְ/שִׁבְעָֽה

38

The children of Pashur, a thousand two hundred forty and seven.

بَنُو فَشْحُورَ أَلْفٌ وَمِئَتَانِ وَسَبْعَةٌ وَأَرْبَعُونَ.

בְּנֵ֣י חָרִ֔ם אֶ֖לֶף וְ/שִׁבְעָ֥ה עָשָֽׂר

39

The children of Harim, a thousand and seventeen.

بَنُو حَارِيمَ أَلْفٌ وَسَبْعَةَ عَشَرَ.

הַ/לְוִיִּ֑ם בְּנֵי יֵשׁ֧וּעַ וְ/קַדְמִיאֵ֛ל לִ/בְנֵ֥י הוֹדַוְיָ֖ה שִׁבְעִ֥ים וְ/אַרְבָּעָֽה

40

The Levites: the children of Jeshua and Kadmiel, of the children of Hodaviah, seventy and four. {Hodaviah: also called, Judah or Hodevah}

أَمَّا ٱللَّاوِيُّونَ: فَبَنُو يَشُوعَ وَقَدْمِيئِيلَ مِنْ بَنِي هُودُويَا أَرْبَعَةٌ وَسَبْعُونَ.

הַֽ/מְשֹׁרְרִ֑ים בְּנֵ֣י אָסָ֔ף מֵאָ֖ה עֶשְׂרִ֥ים וּ/שְׁמֹנָֽה

41

The singers: the children of Asaph, an hundred twenty and eight.

ٱلْمُغَنُّونَ بَنُو آسَافَ مِئَةٌ وَثَمَانِيَةٌ وَعِشْرُونَ.

בְּנֵ֣י הַ/שֹּֽׁעֲרִ֗ים בְּנֵי שַׁלּ֤וּם בְּנֵֽי אָטֵר֙ בְּנֵי טַלְמ֣וֹן בְּנֵי עַקּ֔וּב בְּנֵ֥י חֲטִיטָ֖א בְּנֵ֣י שֹׁבָ֑י הַ/כֹּ֕ל מֵאָ֖ה שְׁלֹשִׁ֥ים וְ/תִשְׁעָֽה

42

The children of the porters: the children of Shallum, the children of Ater, the children of Talmon, the children of Akkub, the children of Hatita, the children of Shobai, {in} all an hundred thirty and nine.

بَنُو ٱلْبَوَّابِينَ: بَنُو شَلُّومَ، بَنُو آطِيرَ، بَنُو طَلْمُونَ، بَنُو عَقُّوبَ، بَنُو حَطِيطَا، بَنُو شُوبَايَ، ٱلْجَمِيعُ مِئَةٌ وَتِسْعَةٌ وَثَلَاثُونَ.

הַ/נְּתִינִ֑ים בְּנֵי צִיחָ֥א בְנֵי חֲשׂוּפָ֖א בְּנֵ֥י טַבָּעֽוֹת

43

The Nethinims: the children of Ziha, the children of Hasupha, the children of Tabbaoth,

ٱلنَّثِينِيمُ: بَنُو صِيحَا، بَنُو حَسُوفَا، بَنُو طَبَاعُوتَ،

בְּנֵי קֵרֹ֥ס בְּֽנֵי סִֽיעֲהָ֖א בְּנֵ֥י פָדֽוֹן

44

The children of Keros, the children of Siaha, the children of Padon, {Siaha: also called, Sia}

بَنُو قِيرُوسَ، بَنُو سِيعَهَا، بَنُو فَادُونَ،

בְּנֵי לְבָנָ֥ה בְנֵי חֲגָבָ֖ה בְּנֵ֥י עַקּֽוּב

The children of Lebanah, the children of Hagabah, the children of Akkub,

بَنُو لَبَانَةَ، بَنُو حَجَابَةَ، بَنُو عَقُّوبَ،

בְּנֵי חָגָ֥ב בְּנֵי שמלי שַׁלְמַ֖י בְּנֵ֥י חָנָֽן

46

The children of Hagab, the children of Shalmai, the children of Hanan, {Shalmai: also called, Shamlai}

بَنُو حَاجَابَ، بَنُو شَمُلَايَ، بَنُو حَانَانَ،

בְּנֵי גִדֵּ֥ל בְּנֵי גַ֖חַר בְּנֵ֥י רְאָיָֽה

47

The children of Giddel, the children of Gahar, the children of Reaiah,

بَنُو جَدِيلَ، بَنُو حَجَرَ، بَنُو رَآيَا،

בְּנֵי רְצִ֥ין בְּנֵי נְקוֹדָ֖א בְּנֵ֥י גַזָּֽם

48

The children of Rezin, the children of Nekoda, the children of Gazzam,

بَنُو رَصِينَ، بَنُو نَقُودَا، بَنُو جَزَّامَ،

בְּנֵי עֻזָּ֥א בְנֵי פָסֵ֖חַ בְּנֵ֥י בֵסָֽי

The children of Uzza, the children of Paseah, the children of Besai,

بَنُو عُزَّا، بَنُو فَاسِيحَ، بَنُو بِيسَايَ،

בְּנֵי אַסְנָ֥ה בְנֵי מעינים מְעוּנִ֖ים בְּנֵ֥י נפיסים נְפוּסִֽים

The children of Asnah, the children of Mehunim, the children of Nephusim, {Nephusim: also called, Nephishesim}

بَنُو أَسْنَةَ، بَنُو مَعُونِيمَ، بَنُو نَفُوسِيمَ،

בְּנֵי בַקְבּ֥וּק בְּנֵי חֲקוּפָ֖א בְּנֵ֥י חַרְחֽוּר

51

The children of Bakbuk, the children of Hakupha, the children of Harhur,

بَنُو بَقْبُوقَ، بَنُو حَقُوفَا، بَنُو حَرْحُورَ،

בְּנֵי בַצְל֥וּת בְּנֵי מְחִידָ֖א בְּנֵ֥י חַרְשָֽׁא

52

The children of Bazluth, the children of Mehida, the children of Harsha, {Bazluth: also called, Bazlith}

بَنُو بَصْلُوتَ، بَنُو مَحِيدَا، بَنُو حَرْشَا،

בְּנֵי בַרְק֥וֹס בְּֽנֵי סִֽיסְרָ֖א בְּנֵי תָֽמַח

The children of Barkos, the children of Sisera, the children of Thamah,

بَنُو بَرْقُوسَ، بَنُو سِيسَرَا، بَنُو ثَامَحَ،

בְּנֵ֥י נְצִ֖יחַ בְּנֵ֥י חֲטִיפָֽא

The children of Neziah, the children of Hatipha.

بَنُو نَصِيحَ، بَنُو حَطِيفَا.

בְּנֵ֖י עַבְדֵ֣י שְׁלֹמֹ֑ה בְּנֵי סֹטַ֥י בְּנֵי הַ/סֹּפֶ֖רֶת בְּנֵ֥י פְרוּדָֽא

The children of Solomon's servants: the children of Sotai, the children of Sophereth, the children of Peruda, {Peruda: also called, Perida}

بَنُو عَبِيدِ سُلَيْمَانَ: بَنُو سَوْطَايَ، بَنُو هَسُّوفَرَثَ، بَنُو فَرُودَا،

בְּנֵי יַעְלָ֥ה בְנֵי דַרְק֖וֹן בְּנֵ֥י גִדֵּֽל

56

The children of Jaalah, the children of Darkon, the children of Giddel,

بَنُو يَعْلَةَ، بَنُو دَرْقُونَ، بَنُو جَدِّيلَ،

בְּנֵ֧י שְׁפַטְיָ֣ה בְנֵֽי חַטִּ֗יל בְּנֵ֛י פֹּכֶ֥רֶת הַצְּבָיִ֖ים בְּנֵ֥י אָמִֽי

57

The children of Shephatiah, the children of Hattil, the children of Pochereth of Zebaim, the children of Ami. {Ami: also called, Amon}

بَنُو شَفَطْيَا، بَنُو حَطِّيلَ، بَنُو فُوخَرَةِ ٱلظِّبَاءِ، بَنُو آمِي.

כָּ֨ל הַ/נְּתִינִ֔ים וּ/בְנֵ֖י עַבְדֵ֣י שְׁלֹמֹ֑ה שְׁלֹ֥שׁ מֵא֖וֹת תִּשְׁעִ֥ים וּ/שְׁנָֽיִם

58

All the Nethinims, and the children of Solomon's servants, {were} three hundred ninety and two.

جَمِيعُ ٱلنَّثِينِيمِ وَبَنِي عَبِيدِ سُلَيْمَانَ ثَلَاثُ مِئَةٍ وَٱثْنَانِ وَتِسْعُونَ.

וְ/אֵ֗לֶּה הָֽ/עֹלִים֙ מִ/תֵּ֥ל מֶ֨לַח֙ תֵּ֣ל חַרְשָׁ֔א כְּר֥וּב אַדָּ֖ן אִמֵּ֑ר וְ/לֹ֣א יָֽכְל֗וּ לְ/הַגִּ֤יד בֵּית אֲבוֹתָ/ם֙ וְ/זַרְעָ֔/ם אִ֥ם מִ/יִּשְׂרָאֵ֖ל הֵֽם

59

And these {were} they which went up from Telmelah, Telharsa, Cherub, Addan, {and} Immer: but they could not shew their father's house, and their seed, whether they {were} of Israel: {Addan: also called, Addon} {seed: or, pedigree}

وَهَؤُلَاءِ هُمُ ٱلَّذِينَ صَعِدُوا مِنْ تَلِّ مِلْحٍ وَتَلِّ حَرْشَا، كَرُوبُ، أَدَّانُ، إِمِّيرُ، وَلَمْ يَسْتَطِيعُوا أَنْ يُبَيِّنُوا بُيُوتَ آبَائِهِمْ وَنَسْلَهُمْ هَلْ هُمْ مِنْ إِسْرَائِيلَ:

בְּנֵי דְלָיָ֥ה בְנֵי טוֹבִיָּ֖ה בְּנֵ֣י נְקוֹדָ֑א שֵׁ֥שׁ מֵא֖וֹת חֲמִשִּׁ֥ים וּ/שְׁנָֽיִם

60

The children of Delaiah, the children of Tobiah, the children of Nekoda, six hundred fifty and two.

بَنُو دَلَايَا، بَنُو طُوبِيَّا، بَنُو نَقُودَا، سِتُّ مِئَةٍ وَٱثْنَانِ وَخَمْسُونَ.

וּ/מִ/בְּנֵי֙ הַ/כֹּ֣הֲנִ֔ים בְּנֵ֥י חֳבַיָּ֖ה בְּנֵ֣י הַקּ֑וֹץ בְּנֵ֣י בַרְזִלַּ֗י אֲשֶׁ֣ר לָ֠קַח מִ/בְּנ֞וֹת בַּרְזִלַּ֤י הַ/גִּלְעָדִי֙ אִשָּׁ֔ה וַ/יִּקָּרֵ֖א עַל שְׁמָֽ/ם

61

And of the children of the priests: the children of Habaiah, the children of Koz, the children of Barzillai; which took a wife of the daughters of Barzillai the Gileadite, and was called after their name:

وَمِنْ بَنِي ٱلْكَهَنَةِ: بَنُو حَبَايَا، بَنُو هَقُّوصَ، بَنُو بَرْزِلَّايَ ٱلَّذِي أَخْذَ ٱمْرَأَةً مِنْ بَنَاتِ بَرْزِلَّايَ ٱلْجِلْعَادِيِّ وَتَسَمَّى بِٱسْمِهِمْ.

אֵ֗לֶּה בִּקְשׁ֧וּ כְתָבָ֛/ם הַ/מִּתְיַחְשִׂ֖ים וְ/לֹ֣א נִמְצָ֑אוּ וַֽ/יְגֹאֲל֖וּ מִן הַ/כְּהֻנָּֽה

62

These sought their register {among} those that were reckoned by genealogy, but they were not found: therefore were they, as polluted, put from the priesthood. {were they...: Heb. they were polluted from the priesthood}

هَؤُلَاءِ فَتَّشُوا عَلَى كِتَابَةِ أَنْسَابِهِمْ فَلَمْ تُوجَدْ، فَرُذِلُوا مِنَ ٱلْكَهَنُوتِ.

וַ/יֹּ֤אמֶר הַ/תִּרְשָׁ֨תָא֙ לָ/הֶ֔ם אֲשֶׁ֥ר לֹא יֹאכְל֖וּ מִ/קֹּ֣דֶשׁ הַ/קֳּדָשִׁ֑ים עַ֛ד עֲמֹ֥ד כֹּהֵ֖ן לְ/אוּרִ֥ים וּ/לְ/תֻמִּֽים

63

And the Tirshatha said unto them, that they should not eat of the most holy things, till there stood up a priest with Urim and with Thummim. {Tirshatha: or, governor}

وَقَالَ لَهُمُ ٱلتِّرْشَاثَا أَنْ لَا يَأْكُلُوا مِنْ قُدْسِ ٱلْأَقْدَاسِ حَتَّى يَقُومَ كَاهِنٌ لِلْأُورِيمِ وَٱلتُّمِّيمِ.

כָּל הַ/קָּהָ֖ל כְּ/אֶחָ֑ד אַרְבַּ֣ע רִבּ֔וֹא אַלְפַּ֖יִם שְׁלֹשׁ מֵא֥וֹת שִׁשִּֽׁים

64

The whole congregation together {was} forty and two thousand three hundred {and} threescore,

كُلُّ ٱلْجُمْهُورِ مَعًا ٱثْنَانِ وَأَرْبَعُونَ أَلْفًا وَثَلَاثُ مِئَةٍ وَسِتُّونَ،

מִ֠/לְּ/בַד עַבְדֵי/הֶ֤ם וְ/אַמְהֹֽתֵי/הֶם֙ אֵ֔לֶּה שִׁבְעַ֣ת אֲלָפִ֔ים שְׁלֹ֥שׁ מֵא֖וֹת שְׁלֹשִׁ֣ים וְ/שִׁבְעָ֑ה וְ/לָ/הֶ֛ם מְשֹׁרְרִ֥ים וּֽ/מְשֹׁרְר֖וֹת מָאתָֽיִם

65

Beside their servants and their maids, of whom {there were} seven thousand three hundred thirty and seven: and {there were} among them two hundred singing men and singing women.

فَضْلًا عَنْ عَبِيدِهِمْ وَإِمَائِهِمْ فَهَؤُلَاءِ كَانُوا سَبْعَةَ آلَافٍ وَثَلَاثَ مِئَةٍ وَسَبْعَةً وَثَلَاثِينَ، وَلَهُمْ مِنَ ٱلْمُغَنِّينَ وَٱلْمُغَنِّيَاتِ مِئَتَانِ.

סוּסֵי/הֶ֕ם שְׁבַ֥ע מֵא֖וֹת שְׁלֹשִׁ֣ים וְ/שִׁשָּׁ֑ה פִּרְדֵי/הֶ֕ם מָאתַ֖יִם אַרְבָּעִ֥ים וַ/חֲמִשָּֽׁה

66

Their horses {were} seven hundred thirty and six; their mules, two hundred forty and five;

خَيْلُهُمْ سَبْعُ مِئَةٍ وَسِتَّةٌ وَثَلَاثُونَ. بِغَالُهُمْ مِئَتَانِ وَخَمْسَةٌ وَأَرْبَعُونَ.

גְּמַ֨לֵּי/הֶ֔ם אַרְבַּ֥ע מֵא֖וֹת שְׁלֹשִׁ֣ים וַ/חֲמִשָּׁ֑ה חֲמֹרִ֕ים שֵׁ֣שֶׁת אֲלָפִ֔ים שְׁבַ֥ע מֵא֖וֹת וְ/עֶשְׂרִֽים

67

Their camels, four hundred thirty and five; {their} asses, six thousand seven hundred and twenty.

جِمَالُهُمْ أَرْبَعُ مِئَةٍ وَخَمْسَةٌ وَثَلَاثُونَ. حَمِيرُهُمْ سِتَّةُ آلَافٍ وَسَبْعُ مِئَةٍ وَعِشْرُونَ.

וּ/מֵ/רָאשֵׁי֙ הָֽ/אָב֔וֹת בְּ/בוֹאָ֕/ם לְ/בֵ֥ית יְהוָ֖ה אֲשֶׁ֣ר בִּ/ירוּשָׁלִָ֑ם הִֽתְנַדְּבוּ֙ לְ/בֵ֣ית הָֽ/אֱלֹהִ֔ים לְ/הַעֲמִיד֖/וֹ עַל מְכוֹנֽ/וֹ

And {some} of the chief of the fathers, when they came to the house of the LORD which {is} at Jerusalem, offered freely for the house of God to set it up in his place:

وَٱلْبَعْضُ مِنْ رُؤُوسِ ٱلْآبَاءِ عِنْدَ مَجِيئِهِمْ إِلَى بَيْتِ ٱلرَّبِّ ٱلَّذِي فِي أُورُشَلِيمَ تَبَرَّعُوا لِبَيْتِ ٱلرَّبِّ لِإِقَامَتِهِ فِي مَكَانِهِ.

כְּ/כֹחָ֗/ם נָתְנוּ֮ לְ/אוֹצַ֣ר הַ/מְּלָאכָה֒ זָהָ֗ב דַּרְכְּמוֹנִים֙ שֵׁשׁ רִבֹּ֣אות וָ/אֶ֔לֶף וְ/כֶ֕סֶף מָנִ֖ים חֲמֵ֣שֶׁת אֲלָפִ֑ים וְ/כָתְנֹ֥ת כֹּהֲנִ֖ים מֵאָֽה

69

They gave after their ability unto the treasure of the work threescore and one thousand drams of gold, and five thousand pound of silver, and one hundred priests' garments.

أَعْطَوْا حَسَبَ طَاقَتِهِمْ لِخِزَانَةِ ٱلْعَمَلِ وَاحِدًا وَسِتِّينَ أَلْفَ دِرْهَمٍ مِنَ ٱلذَّهَبِ، وَخَمْسَةَ آلَافِ مَنًا مِنَ ٱلْفِضَّةِ، وَمِئَةَ قَمِيصٍ لِلْكَهَنَةِ.

וַ/יֵּשְׁב֣וּ הַ/כֹּהֲנִ֣ים וְ֠/הַ/לְוִיִּם וּֽ/מִן הָ/עָ֞ם וְ/הַ/מְשֹׁרְרִ֧ים וְ/הַ/שּׁוֹעֲרִ֛ים וְ/הַ/נְּתִינִ֖ים בְּ/עָרֵי/הֶ֑ם וְ/כָל יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל בְּ/עָרֵי/הֶֽם

So the priests, and the Levites, and {some} of the people, and the singers, and the porters, and the Nethinims, dwelt in their cities, and all Israel in their cities.

فَأَقَامَ ٱلْكَهَنَةُ وَٱللَّاوِيُّونَ وَبَعْضُ ٱلشَّعْبِ وَٱلْمُغَنُّونَ وَٱلْبَوَّابُونَ وَٱلنَّثِينِيمُ فِي مُدُنِهِمْ وَكُلُّ إِسْرَائِيلَ فِي مُدُنِهِمْ.

וּ/בִ/שְׁנַ֣ת אַחַ֗ת לְ/כ֨וֹרֶשׁ֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ פָּרַ֔ס לִ/כְל֥וֹת דְּבַר יְהוָ֖ה מִ/פִּ֣י יִרְמְיָ֑ה הֵעִ֣יר יְהוָ֗ה אֶת ר֨וּחַ֙ כֹּ֣רֶשׁ מֶֽלֶךְ פָּרַ֔ס וַ/יַּֽעֲבֶר קוֹל֙ בְּ/כָל מַלְכוּת֔/וֹ וְ/גַם בְּ/מִכְתָּ֖ב לֵ/אמֹֽר	1	Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled, the LORD stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and {put it} also in writing, saying, {made...: Heb. caused a voice to pass}	وَفِي ٱلسَّنَةِ ٱلْأُولَى لِكُورَشَ مَلِكِ فَارِسَ عِنْدَ تَمَامِ كَلَامِ ٱلرَّبِّ بِفَمِ إِرْمِيَا، نَبَّهَ ٱلرَّبُّ رُوحَ كُورَشَ مَلِكِ فَارِسَ فَأَطْلَقَ نِدَاءً فِي كُلِّ مَمْلَكَتِهِ وَبِالْكِتَابَةِ أَيْضًا قَائِلًا:
כֹּ֣ה אָמַ֗ר כֹּ֚רֶשׁ מֶ֣לֶךְ פָּרַ֔ס כֹּ֚ל מַמְלְכ֣וֹת הָ/אָ֔רֶץ נָ֣תַן לִ֔/י יְהוָ֖ה אֱלֹהֵ֣י הַ/שָּׁמָ֑יִם וְ/הֽוּא פָקַ֤ד עָלַ/י֙ לִ/בְנֽוֹת ל֣/וֹ בַ֔יִת בִּ/ירוּשָׁלִַ֖ם אֲשֶׁ֥ר בִּֽ/יהוּדָֽה	2	Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, The LORD God of heaven hath given me all the kingdoms of the earth; and he hath charged me to build him an house at Jerusalem, which {is} in Judah.	«هَكَذَا قَالَ كُورَشُ مَلِكُ فَارِسَ: جَمِيعُ مَمَالِكِ ٱلْأَرْضِ دَفَعَهَا لِي ٱلرَّبُّ إِلَهُ ٱلسَّمَاءِ، وَهُوَ أَوْصَانِي أَنْ أَبْنِيَ لَهُ بَيْتًا فِي أُورُشَلِيمَ ٱلَّتِي فِي يَهُوذَا.
מִֽי בָ/כֶ֣ם מִ/כָּל עַמּ֗/וֹ יְהִ֤י אֱלֹהָי/ו֙ עִמּ֔/וֹ וְ/יַ֕עַל לִ/ירוּשָׁלִַ֖ם אֲשֶׁ֣ר בִּ/יהוּדָ֑ה וְ/יִ֗בֶן אֶת בֵּ֤ית יְהוָה֙ אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל ה֥וּא הָ/אֱלֹהִ֖ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר בִּ/ירוּשָׁלִָֽם	3	Who {is there} among you of all his people? his God be with him, and let him go up to Jerusalem, which {is} in Judah, and build the house of the LORD God of Israel, (he {is} the God,) which {is} in Jerusalem.	مَنْ مِنْكُمْ مِنْ كُلِّ شَعْبِهِ، لِيَكُنْ إِلَهُهُ مَعَهُ، وَيَصْعَدْ إِلَى أُورُشَلِيمَ ٱلَّتِي فِي يَهُوذَا فَيَبْنِيَ بَيْتَ ٱلرَّبِّ إِلَهِ إِسْرَائِيلَ. هُوَ ٱلْإِلَهُ ٱلَّذِي فِي أُورُشَلِيمَ.
וְ/כָל הַ/נִּשְׁאָ֗ר מִֽ/כָּל הַ/מְּקֹמוֹת֮ אֲשֶׁ֣ר ה֣וּא גָֽר שָׁם֒ יְנַשְּׂא֨וּ/הוּ֙ אַנְשֵׁ֣י מְקֹמ֔/וֹ בְּ/כֶ֥סֶף וּ/בְ/זָהָ֖ב וּ/בִ/רְכ֣וּשׁ וּ/בִ/בְהֵמָ֑ה עִם הַ֨/נְּדָבָ֔ה לְ/בֵ֥ית הָ/אֱלֹהִ֖ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר בִּ/ירוּשָׁלִָֽם	4	And whosoever remaineth in any place where he sojourneth, let the men of his place help him with silver, and with gold, and with goods, and with beasts, beside the freewill offering for the house of God that {is} in Jerusalem. {help...: Heb. lift him up}	وَكُلُّ مَنْ بَقِيَ فِي أَحَدِ ٱلْأَمَاكِنِ حَيْثُ هُوَ مُتَغَرِّبٌ فَلْيُنْجِدْهُ أَهْلُ مَكَانِهِ بِفِضَّةٍ وَبِذَهَبٍ وَبِأَمْتِعَةٍ وَبِبَهَائِمَ مَعَ ٱلتَّبَرُّعِ لِبَيْتِ ٱلرَّبِّ ٱلَّذِي فِي أُورُشَلِيمَ».
וַ/יָּק֜וּמוּ רָאשֵׁ֣י הָ/אָב֗וֹת לִֽ/יהוּדָה֙ וּ/בִנְיָמִ֔ן וְ/הַ/כֹּהֲנִ֖ים וְ/הַ/לְוִיִּ֑ם לְ/כֹ֨ל הֵעִ֤יר הָ/אֱלֹהִים֙ אֶת רוּח֔/וֹ לַ/עֲל֣וֹת לִ/בְנ֔וֹת אֶת בֵּ֥ית יְהוָ֖ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר בִּ/ירוּשָׁלִָֽם	5	Then rose up the chief of the fathers of Judah and Benjamin, and the priests, and the Levites, with all {them} whose spirit God had raised, to go up to build the house of the LORD which {is} in Jerusalem.	فَقَامَ رُؤُوسُ آبَاءِ يَهُوذَا وَبَنْيَامِينَ، وَٱلْكَهَنَةُ وَٱللَّاوِيُّونَ، مَعَ كُلِّ مَنْ نَبَّهَ ٱللهُ رُوحَهُ، لِيَصْعَدُوا لِيَبْنُوا بَيْتَ ٱلرَّبِّ ٱلَّذِي فِي أُورُشَلِيمَ.
וְ/כָל סְבִיבֹֽתֵי/הֶם֙ חִזְּק֣וּ בִֽ/ידֵי/הֶ֔ם בִּ/כְלֵי כֶ֧סֶף בַּ/זָּהָ֛ב בָּ/רְכ֥וּשׁ וּ/בַ/בְּהֵמָ֖ה וּ/בַ/מִּגְדָּנ֑וֹת לְ/בַ֖ד עַל כָּל הִתְנַדֵּֽב	6	And all they that {were} about them strengthened their hands with vessels of silver, with gold, with goods, and with beasts, and with precious things, beside all {that} was willingly offered. {strengthened...: that is, helped them}	وَكُلُّ ٱلَّذِينَ حَوْلَهُمْ أَعَانُوهُمْ بِآنِيَةِ فِضَّةٍ وَبِذَهَبٍ وَبِأَمْتِعَةٍ وَبِبَهَائِمَ وَبِتُحَفٍ، فَضْلًا عَنْ كُلِّ مَا تُبُرِّعَ بِهِ.
וְ/הַ/מֶּ֣לֶךְ כּ֔וֹרֶשׁ הוֹצִ֖יא אֶת כְּלֵ֣י בֵית יְהוָ֑ה אֲשֶׁ֨ר הוֹצִ֤יא נְבֽוּכַדְנֶצַּר֙ מִ/יר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔ם וַֽ/יִּתְּנֵ֖/ם בְּ/בֵ֥ית אֱלֹהָֽי/ו	7	Also Cyrus the king brought forth the vessels of the house of the LORD, which Nebuchadnezzar had brought forth out of Jerusalem, and had put them in the house of his gods;	وَٱلْمَلِكُ كُورَشُ أَخْرَجَ آنِيَةَ بَيْتِ ٱلرَّبِّ ٱلَّتِي أَخْرَجَهَا نَبُوخَذْنَاصَّرُ مِنْ أُورُشَلِيمَ وَجَعَلَهَا فِي بَيْتِ آلِهَتِهِ.
וַ/יּֽוֹצִיאֵ֗/ם כּ֚וֹרֶשׁ מֶ֣לֶךְ פָּרַ֔ס עַל יַ֖ד מִתְרְדָ֣ת הַ/גִּזְבָּ֑ר וַֽ/יִּסְפְּרֵ/ם֙ לְ/שֵׁשְׁבַּצַּ֔ר הַ/נָּשִׂ֖יא לִ/יהוּדָֽה	8	Even those did Cyrus king of Persia bring forth by the hand of Mithredath the treasurer, and numbered them unto Sheshbazzar, the prince of Judah.	أَخْرَجَهَا كُورَشُ مَلِكُ فَارِسَ عَنْ يَدِ مِثْرَدَاثَ ٱلْخَازِنِ، وَعَدَّهَا لِشِيشْبَصَّرَ رَئِيسِ يَهُوذَا.
וְ/אֵ֖לֶּה מִסְפָּרָ֑/ם אֲגַרְטְלֵ֨י זָהָ֜ב שְׁלֹשִׁ֗ים אֲגַרְטְלֵי כֶ֨סֶף֙ אָ֔לֶף מַחֲלָפִ֖ים תִּשְׁעָ֥ה וְ/עֶשְׂרִֽים	9	And this {is} the number of them: thirty chargers of gold, a thousand chargers of silver, nine and twenty knives,	وَهَذَا عَدَدُهَا: ثَلَاثُونَ طَسْتًا مِنْ ذَهَبٍ، وَأَلْفُ طَسْتٍ مِنْ فِضَّةٍ، وَتِسْعَةٌ وَعِشْرُونَ سِكِّينًا،
כְּפוֹרֵ֤י זָהָב֙ שְׁלֹשִׁ֔ים כְּפ֤וֹרֵי כֶ֨סֶף֙ מִשְׁנִ֔ים אַרְבַּ֥ע מֵא֖וֹת וַ/עֲשָׂרָ֑ה כֵּלִ֥ים אֲחֵרִ֖ים אָֽלֶף	10	Thirty basons of gold, silver basons of a second {sort} four hundred and ten, {and} other vessels a thousand.	وَثَلَاثُونَ قَدَحًا مِنْ ذَهَبٍ، وَأَقْدَاحُ فِضَّةٍ مِنَ ٱلرُّتْبَةِ ٱلثَّانِيَةِ أَرْبَعُ مِئَةٍ وَعَشَرَةٌ، وَأَلْفٌ مِنْ آنِيَةٍ أُخْرَى.
כָּל כֵּלִים֙ לַ/זָּהָ֣ב וְ/לַ/כֶּ֔סֶף חֲמֵ֥שֶׁת אֲלָפִ֖ים וְ/אַרְבַּ֣ע מֵא֑וֹת הַ/כֹּ֞ל הֶעֱלָ֣ה שֵׁשְׁבַּצַּ֗ר עִ֚ם הֵעָל֣וֹת הַ/גּוֹלָ֔ה מִ/בָּבֶ֖ל לִ/ירוּשָׁלִָֽם	11	All the vessels of gold and of silver {were} five thousand and four hundred. All {these} did Sheshbazzar bring up with {them of} the captivity that were brought up from Babylon unto Jerusalem. {the captivity: Heb. the transportation}	جَمِيعُ ٱلْآنِيَةِ مِنَ ٱلذَّهَبِ وَٱلْفِضَّةِ خَمْسَةُ آلَافٍ وَأَرْبَعُ مِئَةٍ. ٱلْكُلُّ أَصْعَدَهُ شِيشْبَصَّرُ عِنْدَ إِصْعَادِ ٱلسَّبْيِ مِنْ بَابِلَ إِلَى أُورُشَلِيمَ.

וַ/יִּגַּע֙ הַ/חֹ֣דֶשׁ הַ/שְּׁבִיעִ֔י וּ/בְנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל בֶּ/עָרִ֑ים וַ/יֵּאָסְפ֥וּ הָ/עָ֛ם כְּ/אִ֥ישׁ אֶחָ֖ד אֶל יְרוּשָׁלִָֽם	1	And when the seventh month was come, and the children of Israel {were} in the cities, the people gathered themselves together as one man to Jerusalem.	وَلَمَّا ٱسْتُهِلَّ ٱلشَّهْرُ ٱلسَّابِعُ وَبَنُو إِسْرَائِيلَ فِي مُدُنِهِمُ، ٱجْتَمَعَ ٱلشَّعْبُ كَرَجُلٍ وَاحِدٍ إِلَى أُورُشَلِيمَ.
וַ/יָּקָם֩ יֵשׁ֨וּעַ בֶּן יֽוֹצָדָ֜ק וְ/אֶחָ֣י/ו הַ/כֹּהֲנִ֗ים וּ/זְרֻבָּבֶ֤ל בֶּן שְׁאַלְתִּיאֵל֙ וְ/אֶחָ֔י/ו וַ/יִּבְנ֕וּ אֶת מִזְבַּ֖ח אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל לְ/הַעֲל֤וֹת עָלָי/ו֙ עֹל֔וֹת כַּ/כָּת֕וּב בְּ/תוֹרַ֖ת מֹשֶׁ֥ה אִישׁ הָ/אֱלֹהִֽים	2	Then stood up Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and his brethren the priests, and Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and his brethren, and builded the altar of the God of Israel, to offer burnt offerings thereon, as {it is} written in the law of Moses the man of God. {Jeshua: also called, Joshua} {Zerubbabel: Gr. Zorobabel} {Shealtiel: Gr. Salathiel}	وَقَامَ يَشُوعُ بْنُ يُوصَادَاقَ وَإِخْوَتُهُ ٱلْكَهَنَةُ، وَزَرُبَّابِلُ بْنُ شَأَلْتِئِيلَ وَإِخْوَتُهُ، وَبَنَوْا مَذْبَحَ إِلَهِ إِسْرَائِيلَ لِيُصْعِدُوا عَلَيْهِ مُحْرَقَاتٍ كَمَا هُوَ مَكْتُوبٌ فِي شَرِيعَةِ مُوسَى رَجُلِ ٱللهِ.
וַ/יָּכִ֤ינוּ הַ/מִּזְבֵּ֨חַ֙ עַל מְכ֣וֹנֹתָ֔י/ו כִּ֚י בְּ/אֵימָ֣ה עֲלֵי/הֶ֔ם מֵ/עַמֵּ֖י הָ/אֲרָצ֑וֹת ו/יעל וַ/יַּעֲל֨וּ עָלָ֤י/ו עֹלוֹת֙ לַֽ/יהוָ֔ה עֹל֖וֹת לַ/בֹּ֥קֶר וְ/לָ/עָֽרֶב	3	And they set the altar upon his bases; for fear {was} upon them because of the people of those countries: and they offered burnt offerings thereon unto the LORD, {even} burnt offerings morning and evening.	وَأَقَامُوا ٱلْمَذْبَحَ فِي مَكَانِهِ، لِأَنَّهُ كَانَ عَلَيْهِمْ رُعْبٌ مِنْ شُعُوبِ ٱلْأَرَاضِي، وَأَصْعَدُوا عَلَيْهِ مُحْرَقَاتٍ لِلرَّبِّ، مُحْرَقَاتِ ٱلصَّبَاحِ وَٱلْمَسَاءِ.
וַֽ/יַּעֲשׂ֛וּ אֶת חַ֥ג הַ/סֻּכּ֖וֹת כַּ/כָּת֑וּב וְ/עֹלַ֨ת י֤וֹם בְּ/יוֹם֙ בְּ/מִסְפָּ֔ר כְּ/מִשְׁפַּ֖ט דְּבַר י֥וֹם בְּ/יוֹמֽ/וֹ	4	They kept also the feast of tabernacles, as {it is} written, and {offered} the daily burnt offerings by number, according to the custom, as the duty of every day required; {as the duty...: Heb. the matter of the day in his day}	وَحَفِظُوا عِيدَ ٱلْمَظَالِّ كَمَا هُوَ مَكْتُوبٌ، وَمُحْرَقَةَ يَوْمٍ فَيَوْمٍ بِٱلْعَدَدِ كَٱلْمَرْسُومِ، أَمْرَ ٱلْيَوْمِ بِيَوْمِهِ.
וְ/אַחֲרֵי כֵ֞ן עֹלַ֤ת תָּמִיד֙ וְ/לֶ֣/חֳדָשִׁ֔ים וּ/לְ/כָל מוֹעֲדֵ֥י יְהוָ֖ה הַ/מְקֻדָּשִׁ֑ים וּ/לְ/כֹ֛ל מִתְנַדֵּ֥ב נְדָבָ֖ה לַ/יהוָֽה	5	And afterward {offered} the continual burnt offering, both of the new moons, and of all the set feasts of the LORD that were consecrated, and of every one that willingly offered a freewill offering unto the LORD.	وَبَعْدَ ذَلِكَ ٱلْمُحْرَقَةُ ٱلدَّائِمَةُ، وَلِلْأَهِلَّةِ وَلِجَمِيعِ مَوَاسِمِ ٱلرّبِّ ٱلْمُقَدَّسَةِ، وَلِكُلِّ مَن تبرَّعَ بِمُتَبَرَّعٍ لِلرَّبِّ.
מִ/יּ֤וֹם אֶחָד֙ לַ/חֹ֣דֶשׁ הַ/שְּׁבִיעִ֔י הֵחֵ֕לּוּ לְ/הַעֲל֥וֹת עֹל֖וֹת לַ/יהוָ֑ה וְ/הֵיכַ֥ל יְהוָ֖ה לֹ֥א יֻסָּֽד	6	From the first day of the seventh month began they to offer burnt offerings unto the LORD. But the foundation of the temple of the LORD was not {yet} laid. {the foundation...: Heb. the temple of the LORD was not yet founded}	ٱبْتَدَأُوا مِنَ ٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْأَوَّلِ مِنَ ٱلشَّهْرِ ٱلسَّابِعِ يُصْعِدُونَ مُحْرَقَاتٍ لِلرَّبِّ، وَهَيْكَلُ ٱلرَّبِّ لَمْ يَكُنْ قَدْ تَأَسَّسَ.
וַ/יִּ֨תְּנוּ כֶ֔סֶף לַ/חֹצְבִ֖ים וְ/לֶ/חָרָשִׁ֑ים וּ/מַאֲכָ֨ל וּ/מִשְׁתֶּ֜ה וָ/שֶׁ֗מֶן לַ/צִּֽדֹנִים֙ וְ/לַ/צֹּרִ֔ים לְ/הָבִיא֩ עֲצֵ֨י אֲרָזִ֤ים מִן הַ/לְּבָנוֹן֙ אֶל יָ֣ם יָפ֔וֹא כְּ/רִשְׁי֛וֹן כּ֥וֹרֶשׁ מֶֽלֶךְ פָּרַ֖ס עֲלֵי/הֶֽם	7	They gave money also unto the masons, and to the carpenters; and meat, and drink, and oil, unto them of Zidon, and to them of Tyre, to bring cedar trees from Lebanon to the sea of Joppa, according to the grant that they had of Cyrus king of Persia. {carpenters: or, workmen}	وَأَعْطَوْا فِضَّةً لِلنَّحَّاتِينَ وَٱلنَّجَّارِينَ، وَمَأْكَلًا وَمَشْرَبًا وَزَيْتًا لِلصِّيدُونِيِّينَ وَٱلصُّورِيِّينَ لِيَأْتُوا بِخَشَبِ أَرْزٍ مِنْ لُبْنَانَ إِلَى بَحْرِ يَافَا، حَسَبَ إِذْنِ كُورَشَ مَلِكِ فَارِسَ لَهُمْ.
וּ/בַ/שָּׁנָ֣ה הַ/שֵּׁנִ֗ית לְ/בוֹאָ֞/ם אֶל בֵּ֤ית הָֽ/אֱלֹהִים֙ לִ/יר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔ם בַּ/חֹ֖דֶשׁ הַ/שֵּׁנִ֑י הֵחֵ֡לּוּ זְרֻבָּבֶ֣ל בֶּן שְׁ֠אַלְתִּיאֵל וְ/יֵשׁ֨וּעַ בֶּן יֽוֹצָדָ֜ק וּ/שְׁאָ֥ר אֲחֵי/הֶ֣ם הַ/כֹּהֲנִ֣ים וְ/הַ/לְוִיִּ֗ם וְ/כָל הַ/בָּאִים֙ מֵ/הַ/שְּׁבִ֣י יְרֽוּשָׁלִַ֔ם וַ/יַּעֲמִ֣ידוּ אֶת הַ/לְוִיִּ֗ם מִ/בֶּ֨ן עֶשְׂרִ֤ים שָׁנָה֙ וָ/מַ֔עְלָ/ה לְ/נַצֵּ֖חַ עַל מְלֶ֥אכֶת בֵּית יְהוָֽה	8	Now in the second year of their coming unto the house of God at Jerusalem, in the second month, began Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and the remnant of their brethren the priests and the Levites, and all they that were come out of the captivity unto Jerusalem; and appointed the Levites, from twenty years old and upward, to set forward the work of the house of the LORD.	وَفِي ٱلسَّنَةِ ٱلثَّانِيَةِ مِنْ مَجِيئِهِمْ إِلَى بَيْتِ ٱللهِ إِلَى أُورُشَلِيمَ، فِي ٱلشَّهْرِ ٱلثَّانِي، شَرَعَ زَرُبَّابِلُ بْنُ شَأَلْتِئِيلَ وَيَشُوعُ بْنُ يُوصَادَاقَ وَبَقِيَّةُ إِخْوَتِهِمِ ٱلْكَهَنَةِ وَٱللَّاوِيِّينَ وَجَمِيعُ ٱلْقَادِمِينَ مِنَ ٱلسَّبْيِ إِلَى أُورُشَلِيمَ، وَأَقَامُوا ٱللَّاوِيِّينَ مِنِ ٱبْنِ عِشْرِينَ سَنَةً فَمَا فَوْقُ لِلْمُنَاظَرَةِ عَلَى عَمَلِ بَيْتِ ٱلرَّبِّ.
וַ/יַּעֲמֹ֣ד יֵשׁ֡וּעַ בָּנָ֣י/ו וְ֠/אֶחָי/ו קַדְמִיאֵ֨ל וּ/בָנָ֤י/ו בְּנֵֽי יְהוּדָה֙ כְּ/אֶחָ֔ד לְ/נַצֵּ֛חַ עַל עֹשֵׂ֥ה הַ/מְּלָאכָ֖ה בְּ/בֵ֣ית הָ/אֱלֹהִ֑ים בְּנֵי֙ חֵֽנָדָ֔ד בְּנֵי/הֶ֥ם וַ/אֲחֵי/הֶ֖ם הַ/לְוִיִּֽם	9	Then stood Jeshua {with} his sons and his brethren, Kadmiel and his sons, the sons of Judah, together, to set forward the workmen in the house of God: the sons of Henadad, {with} their sons and their brethren the Levites. {Judah: also called, Hodaviah} {together: Heb. as one}	وَوَقَفَ يَشُوعُ مَعَ بَنِيهِ وَإِخْوَتِهِ، قَدْمِيئِيلَ وَبَنِيهِ بَنِي يَهُوذَا مَعًا لِلْمُنَاظَرَةِ عَلَى عَامِلِي ٱلشُّغْلِ فِي بَيْتِ ٱللهِ، وَبَنِي حِينَادَادَ مَعَ بَنِيهِمْ وَإِخْوَتِهِمِ ٱللَّاوِيِّينَ.
וְ/יִסְּד֥וּ הַ/בֹּנִ֖ים אֶת הֵיכַ֣ל יְהוָ֑ה וַ/יַּעֲמִידוּ֩ הַ/כֹּהֲנִ֨ים מְלֻבָּשִׁ֜ים בַּ/חֲצֹֽצְר֗וֹת וְ/הַ/לְוִיִּ֤ם בְּנֵֽי אָסָף֙ בַּֽ/מְצִלְתַּ֔יִם לְ/הַלֵּל֙ אֶת יְהוָ֔ה עַל יְדֵ֖י דָּוִ֥יד מֶֽלֶךְ יִשְׂרָאֵֽל	10	And when the builders laid the foundation of the temple of the LORD, they set the priests in their apparel with trumpets, and the Levites the sons of Asaph with cymbals, to praise the LORD, after the ordinance of David king of Israel.	وَلَمَّا أَسَّسَ ٱلْبَانُونَ هَيْكَلَ ٱلرَّبِّ، أَقَامُوا ٱلْكَهَنَةَ بِمَلَابِسِهِمْ بِأَبْوَاقٍ، وَٱللَّاوِيِّينَ بَنِي آسَافَ بِٱلصُّنُوجِ، لِتَسْبِيحِ ٱلرَّبِّ عَلَى تَرْتِيبِ دَاوُدَ مَلِكِ إِسْرَائِيلَ.
וַֽ֠/יַּעֲנוּ בְּ/הַלֵּ֨ל וּ/בְ/הוֹדֹ֤ת לַֽ/יהוָה֙ כִּ֣י ט֔וֹב כִּֽי לְ/עוֹלָ֥ם חַסְדּ֖/וֹ עַל יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וְ/כָל הָ/עָ֡ם הֵרִיעוּ֩ תְרוּעָ֨ה גְדוֹלָ֤ה בְ/הַלֵּל֙ לַֽ/יהוָ֔ה עַ֖ל הוּסַ֥ד בֵּית יְהוָֽה	11	And they sang together by course in praising and giving thanks unto the LORD; because {he is} good, for his mercy {endureth} for ever toward Israel. And all the people shouted with a great shout, when they praised the LORD, because the foundation of the house of the LORD was laid.	وَغَنَّوْا بِٱلتَّسْبِيحِ وَٱلْحَمْدِ لِلرَّبِّ، لِأَنَّهُ صَالِحٌ لِأَنَّ إِلَى ٱلْأَبَدِ رَحْمَتَهُ عَلَى إِسْرَائِيلَ. وَكُلُّ ٱلشَّعْبِ هَتَفُوا هُتَافًا عَظِيمًا بِٱلتَّسْبِيحِ لِلرَّبِّ لِأَجْلِ تَأْسِيسِ بَيْتِ ٱلرَّبِّ.
וְ/רַבִּ֡ים מֵ/הַ/כֹּהֲנִ֣ים וְ/הַ/לְוִיִּם֩ וְ/רָאשֵׁ֨י הָ/אָב֜וֹת הַ/זְּקֵנִ֗ים אֲשֶׁ֨ר רָא֜וּ אֶת הַ/בַּ֤יִת הָֽ/רִאשׁוֹן֙ בְּ/יָסְד֔/וֹ זֶ֤ה הַ/בַּ֨יִת֙ בְּ/עֵ֣ינֵי/הֶ֔ם בֹּכִ֖ים בְּ/ק֣וֹל גָּד֑וֹל וְ/רַבִּ֛ים בִּ/תְרוּעָ֥ה בְ/שִׂמְחָ֖ה לְ/הָרִ֥ים קֽוֹל	12	But many of the priests and Levites and chief of the fathers, {who were} ancient men, that had seen the first house, when the foundation of this house was laid before their eyes, wept with a loud voice; and many shouted aloud for joy:	وَكَثِيرُونَ مِنَ ٱلْكَهَنَةِ وَٱللَّاوِيِّينَ وَرُؤُوسِ ٱلْآبَاءِ ٱلشُّيُوخِ، ٱلَّذِينَ رَأَوْا ٱلْبَيْتَ ٱلْأَوَّلَ، بَكَوْا بِصَوْتٍ عَظِيمٍ عِنْدَ تَأْسِيسِ هَذَا ٱلْبَيْتِ أَمَامَ أَعْيُنِهِمْ. وَكَثِيرُونَ كَانُوا يَرْفَعُونَ أَصْوَاتَهُمْ بِٱلْهُتَافِ بِفَرَحٍ.
וְ/אֵ֣ין הָ/עָ֗ם מַכִּירִים֙ ק֚וֹל תְּרוּעַ֣ת הַ/שִּׂמְחָ֔ה לְ/ק֖וֹל בְּכִ֣י הָ/עָ֑ם כִּ֣י הָ/עָ֗ם מְרִיעִים֙ תְּרוּעָ֣ה גְדוֹלָ֔ה וְ/הַ/קּ֥וֹל נִשְׁמַ֖ע עַד לְ/מֵ/רָחֽוֹק	13	So that the people could not discern the noise of the shout of joy from the noise of the weeping of the people: for the people shouted with a loud shout, and the noise was heard afar off.	وَلَمْ يَكُنِ ٱلشَّعْبُ يُمَيِّزُ هُتَافَ ٱلْفَرَحِ مِنْ صَوْتِ بُكَاءِ ٱلشَّعْبِ، لِأَنَّ ٱلشَّعْبَ كَانَ يَهْتِفُ هُتَافًا عَظِيمًا حَتَّى أَنَّ ٱلصَّوْتَ سُمِعَ مِنْ بُعْدٍ.

וַֽ/יִּשְׁמְע֔וּ צָרֵ֥י יְהוּדָ֖ה וּ/בִנְיָמִ֑ן כִּֽי בְנֵ֤י הַ/גּוֹלָה֙ בּוֹנִ֣ים הֵיכָ֔ל לַ/יהוָ֖ה אֱלֹהֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל	1	Now when the adversaries of Judah and Benjamin heard that the children of the captivity builded the temple unto the LORD God of Israel; {the children...: Heb. the sons of the transportation}	وَلَمَّا سَمِعَ أَعْدَاءُ يَهُوذَا وَبَنْيَامِينَ أَنَّ بَنِي ٱلسَّبْيِ يَبْنُونَ هَيْكَلًا لِلرَّبِّ إِلَهِ إِسْرَائِيلَ،
וַ/יִּגְּשׁ֨וּ אֶל זְרֻבָּבֶ֜ל וְ/אֶל רָאשֵׁ֣י הָֽ/אָב֗וֹת וַ/יֹּאמְר֤וּ לָ/הֶם֙ נִבְנֶ֣ה עִמָּ/כֶ֔ם כִּ֣י כָ/כֶ֔ם נִדְר֖וֹשׁ לֵֽ/אלֹהֵי/כֶ֑ם ו/לא וְ/ל֣/וֹ אֲנַ֣חְנוּ זֹבְחִ֗ים מִ/ימֵי֙ אֵסַ֤ר חַדֹּן֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ אַשּׁ֔וּר הַ/מַּעֲלֶ֥ה אֹתָ֖/נוּ פֹּֽה	2	Then they came to Zerubbabel, and to the chief of the fathers, and said unto them, Let us build with you: for we seek your God, as ye {do}; and we do sacrifice unto him since the days of Esarhaddon king of Assur, which brought us up hither.	تَقَدَّمُوا إِلَى زَرُبَّابِلَ وَرُؤُوسِ ٱلْآبَاءِ وَقَالُوا لَهُمْ: «نَبْنِي مَعَكُمْ لِأَنَّنَا نَظِيرَكُمْ نَطْلُبُ إِلَهَكُمْ، وَلَهُ قَدْ ذَبَحْنَا مِنْ أَيَّامِ أَسَرْحَدُّونَ مَلِكِ أَشُّورَ ٱلَّذِي أَصْعَدَنَا إِلَى هُنَا».
וַ/יֹּאמֶר֩ לָ/הֶ֨ם זְרֻבָּבֶ֜ל וְ/יֵשׁ֗וּעַ וּ/שְׁאָ֨ר רָאשֵׁ֤י הָֽ/אָבוֹת֙ לְ/יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל לֹֽא לָ֣/כֶם וָ/לָ֔/נוּ לִ/בְנ֥וֹת בַּ֖יִת לֵ/אלֹהֵ֑י/נוּ כִּי֩ אֲנַ֨חְנוּ יַ֜חַד נִבְנֶ֗ה לַֽ/יהוָה֙ אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל כַּ/אֲשֶׁ֣ר צִוָּ֔/נוּ הַ/מֶּ֖לֶךְ כּ֥וֹרֶשׁ מֶֽלֶךְ פָּרָֽס	3	But Zerubbabel, and Jeshua, and the rest of the chief of the fathers of Israel, said unto them, Ye have nothing to do with us to build an house unto our God; but we ourselves together will build unto the LORD God of Israel, as king Cyrus the king of Persia hath commanded us.	فَقَالَ لَهُمْ زَرُبَّابِلُ وَيَشُوعُ وَبَقِيَّةُ رُؤُوسِ آبَاءِ إِسْرَائِيلَ: «لَيْسَ لَكُمْ وَلَنَا أَنْ نَبْنِيَ بَيْتًا لِإِلَهِنَا، وَلَكِنَّنَا نَحْنُ وَحْدَنَا نَبْنِي لِلرَّبِّ إِلَهِ إِسْرَائِيلَ كَمَا أَمَرَنَا ٱلْمَلِكُ كُورَشُ مَلِكُ فَارِسَ».
וַ/יְהִי֙ עַם הָ/אָ֔רֶץ מְרַפִּ֖ים יְדֵ֣י עַם יְהוּדָ֑ה ו/מבלהים וּֽ/מְבַהֲלִ֥ים אוֹתָ֖/ם לִ/בְנֽוֹת	4	Then the people of the land weakened the hands of the people of Judah, and troubled them in building,	وَكَانَ شَعْبُ ٱلْأَرْضِ يُرْخُونَ أَيْدِيَ شَعْبِ يَهُوذَا وَيُذْعِرُونَهُمْ عَنِ ٱلْبِنَاءِ.
וְ/סֹכְרִ֧ים עֲלֵי/הֶ֛ם יוֹעֲצִ֖ים לְ/הָפֵ֣ר עֲצָתָ֑/ם כָּל יְמֵ֗י כּ֚וֹרֶשׁ מֶ֣לֶךְ פָּרַ֔ס וְ/עַד מַלְכ֖וּת דָּרְיָ֥וֶשׁ מֶֽלֶךְ פָּרָֽס	5	And hired counsellors against them, to frustrate their purpose, all the days of Cyrus king of Persia, even until the reign of Darius king of Persia.	وَٱسْتَأْجَرُوا ضِدَّهُمْ مُشِيرِينَ لِيُبْطِلُوا مَشُورَتَهُمْ كُلَّ أَيَّامِ كُورَشَ مَلِكِ فَارِسَ وَحَتَّى مُلْكِ دَارِيُوسَ مَلِكِ فَارِسَ.
וּ/בְ/מַלְכוּת֙ אֲחַשְׁוֵר֔וֹשׁ בִּ/תְחִלַּ֖ת מַלְכוּת֑/וֹ כָּתְב֣וּ שִׂטְנָ֔ה עַל יֹשְׁבֵ֥י יְהוּדָ֖ה וִ/ירוּשָׁלִָֽם	6	And in the reign of Ahasuerus, in the beginning of his reign, wrote they {unto him} an accusation against the inhabitants of Judah and Jerusalem. {Ahasuerus: Heb. Ahashverosh}	وَفِي مُلْكِ أَحَشْوِيرُوشَ، فِي ٱبْتِدَاءِ مُلْكِهِ، كَتَبُوا شَكْوَى عَلَى سُكَّانِ يَهُوذَا وَأُورُشَلِيمَ.
וּ/בִ/ימֵ֣י אַרְתַּחְשַׁ֗שְׂתָּא כָּתַ֨ב בִּשְׁלָ֜ם מִתְרְדָ֤ת טָֽבְאֵל֙ וּ/שְׁאָ֣ר כנות/ו כְּנָוֺתָ֔י/ו עַל ארתחששתא אַרְתַּחְשַׁ֖שְׂתְּ מֶ֣לֶךְ פָּרָ֑ס וּ/כְתָב֙ הַֽ/נִּשְׁתְּוָ֔ן כָּת֥וּב אֲרָמִ֖ית וּ/מְתֻרְגָּ֥ם אֲרָמִֽית	7	And in the days of Artaxerxes wrote Bishlam, Mithredath, Tabeel, and the rest of their companions, unto Artaxerxes king of Persia; and the writing of the letter {was} written in the Syrian tongue, and interpreted in the Syrian tongue. {Bishlam: or, in peace} {companions: Heb. societies}	وَفِي أَيَّامِ أَرْتَحْشَشْتَا كَتَبَ بِشْلَامُ وَمِثْرَدَاثُ وَطَبْئِيلُ وَسَائِرُ رُفَقَائِهِمْ إِلَى أَرْتَحْشَشْتَا مَلِكِ فَارِسَ. وَكِتَابَةُ ٱلرِّسَالَةِ مَكْتُوبَةٌ بِٱلْأَرَامِيَّةِ وَمُتَرْجَمَةٌ بِٱلْأَرَامِيَّةِ.
רְח֣וּם בְּעֵל טְעֵ֗ם וְ/שִׁמְשַׁי֙ סָֽפְרָ֔/א כְּתַ֛בוּ אִגְּרָ֥ה חֲדָ֖ה עַל יְרוּשְׁלֶ֑ם לְ/אַרְתַּחְשַׁ֥שְׂתְּא מַלְכָּ֖/א כְּנֵֽמָא	8	Rehum the chancellor and Shimshai the scribe wrote a letter against Jerusalem to Artaxerxes the king in this sort: {scribe: or, secretary}	رَحُومُ صَاحِبُ ٱلْقَضَاءِ وَشِمْشَايُ ٱلْكَاتِبُ كَتَبَا رِسَالَةً ضِدَّ أُورُشَلِيمَ إِلَى أَرْتَحْشَشْتَا ٱلْمَلِكِ هَكَذَا:
אֱדַ֜יִן רְח֣וּם בְּעֵל טְעֵ֗ם וְ/שִׁמְשַׁי֙ סָֽפְרָ֔/א וּ/שְׁאָ֖ר כְּנָוָתְ/ה֑וֹן דִּ֠ינָיֵ/א וַ/אֲפַרְסַתְכָיֵ֞/א טַרְפְּלָיֵ֣/א אֲפָֽרְסָיֵ֗/א ארכוי אַרְכְּוָיֵ֤/א בָבְלָיֵ/א֙ שֽׁוּשַׁנְכָיֵ֔/א ד/הוא דֶּהָיֵ֖/א עֵלְמָיֵֽ/א	9	Then {wrote} Rehum the chancellor, and Shimshai the scribe, and the rest of their companions; the Dinaites, the Apharsathchites, the Tarpelites, the Apharsites, the Archevites, the Babylonians, the Susanchites, the Dehavites, {and} the Elamites, {companions: Chaldee, societies}	كَتَبَ حِينَئِذٍ رَحُومُ صَاحِبُ ٱلْقَضَاءِ وَشِمْشَايُ ٱلْكَاتِبُ وَسَائِرُ رُفَقَائِهِمَا ٱلدِّينِيِّينَ وَٱلْأَفَرَسْتِكِيِّينَ وَٱلطَّرْفِلِيِّينَ وَٱلْأَفْرَسِيِّينَ وَٱلْأَرَكْوِيِّينَ وَٱلْبَابِلِيِّينَ وَٱلشُّوشَنِيِّينَ وَٱلدَّهْوِيِّينَ وَٱلْعِيلَامِيِّينَ،
וּ/שְׁאָ֣ר אֻמַּיָּ֗/א דִּ֤י הַגְלִי֙ אָסְנַפַּר֙ רַבָּ֣/א וְ/יַקִּירָ֔/א וְ/הוֹתֵ֣ב הִמּ֔וֹ בְּ/קִרְיָ֖ה דִּ֣י שָׁמְרָ֑יִן וּ/שְׁאָ֥ר עֲבַֽר נַהֲרָ֖/ה וּ/כְעֶֽנֶת	10	And the rest of the nations whom the great and noble Asnappar brought over, and set in the cities of Samaria, and the rest {that are} on this side the river, and at such a time. {at such...: Chaldee, Cheeneth}	وَسَائِرِ ٱلْأُمَمِ ٱلَّذِينَ سَبَاهُمْ أُسْنَفَّرُ ٱلْعَظِيمُ ٱلشَّرِيفُ وَأَسْكَنَهُمْ مُدُنَ ٱلسَّامِرَةِ، وَسَائِرِ ٱلَّذِينَ فِي عَبْرِ ٱلنَّهْرِ وَإِلَى آخِرِهِ.
דְּנָה֙ פַּרְשֶׁ֣גֶן אִגַּרְתָּ֔/א דִּ֚י שְׁלַ֣חוּ עֲל֔וֹ/הִי עַל אַרְתַּחְשַׁ֖שְׂתְּא מַלְכָּ֑/א עַבְדָ֛י/ךְ אֱנָ֥שׁ עֲבַֽר נַהֲרָ֖/ה וּ/כְעֶֽנֶת	11	This {is} the copy of the letter that they sent unto him, {even} unto Artaxerxes the king; Thy servants the men on this side the river, and at such a time.	هَذِهِ صُورَةُ ٱلرِّسَالَةِ ٱلَّتِي أَرْسَلُوهَا إِلَيْهِ، إِلَى أَرْتَحْشَشْتَا ٱلْمَلِكِ: «عَبِيدُكَ ٱلْقَوْمُ ٱلَّذِينَ فِي عَبْرِ ٱلنَّهْرِ إِلَى آخِرِهِ.
יְדִ֨יעַ֙ לֶהֱוֵ֣א לְ/מַלְכָּ֔/א דִּ֣י יְהוּדָיֵ֗/א דִּ֤י סְלִ֨קוּ֙ מִן לְוָתָ֔/ךְ עֲלֶ֥י/נָא אֲת֖וֹ לִ/ירוּשְׁלֶ֑ם קִרְיְתָ֨/א מָֽרָדְתָּ֤/א ו/באישת/א וּ/בִֽישְׁתָּ/א֙ בָּנַ֔יִן ו/שורי וְ/שׁוּרַיָּ֣/א אשכללו שַׁכְלִ֔ילוּ וְ/אֻשַּׁיָּ֖/א יַחִֽיטוּ	12	Be it known unto the king, that the Jews which came up from thee to us are come unto Jerusalem, building the rebellious and the bad city, and have set up the walls {thereof}, and joined the foundations. {set up: or, finished} {joined: Chaldee, sewed together}	لِيُعْلَمِ ٱلْمَلِكُ أَنَّ ٱلْيَهُودَ ٱلَّذِينَ صَعِدُوا مِنْ عِنْدِكَ إِلَيْنَا قَدْ أَتَوْا إِلَى أُورُشَلِيمَ وَيَبْنُونَ ٱلْمَدِينَةَ ٱلْعَاصِيَةَ ٱلرَّدِيَّةَ، وَقَدْ أَكْمَلُوا أَسْوَارَهَا وَرَمَّمُوا أُسُسَهَا.
כְּעַ֗ן יְדִ֨יעַ֙ לֶהֱוֵ֣א לְ/מַלְכָּ֔/א דִּ֠י הֵ֣ן קִרְיְתָ֥/א דָךְ֙ תִּתְבְּנֵ֔א וְ/שׁוּרַיָּ֖/ה יִֽשְׁתַּכְלְל֑וּן מִנְדָּֽה בְל֤וֹ וַ/הֲלָךְ֙ לָ֣א יִנְתְּנ֔וּן וְ/אַפְּתֹ֥ם מַלְכִ֖ים תְּהַנְזִֽק	13	Be it known now unto the king, that, if this city be builded, and the walls set up {again, then} will they not pay toll, tribute, and custom, and {so} thou shalt endamage the revenue of the kings. {pay: Chaldee, give} {revenue: or, strength}	لِيَكُنِ ٱلْآنَ مَعْلُومًا لَدَى ٱلْمَلِكِ أَنَّهُ إِذَا بُنِيَتْ هَذِهِ ٱلْمَدِينَةُ وَأُكْمِلَتْ أَسْوَارُهَا لَا يُؤَدُّونَ جِزْيَةً وَلَا خَرَاجًا وَلَا خِفَارَةً، فَأَخِيرًا تَضُرُّ ٱلْمُلُوكَ.
כְּעַ֗ן כָּ/ל קֳבֵל֙ דִּֽי מְלַ֤ח הֵֽיכְלָ/א֙ מְלַ֔חְנָא וְ/עַרְוַ֣ת מַלְכָּ֔/א לָ֥א אֲֽרִֽיךְ לַ֖/נָא לְ/מֶֽחֱזֵ֑א עַ֨ל דְּנָ֔ה שְׁלַ֖חְנָא וְ/הוֹדַ֥עְנָא לְ/מַלְכָּֽ/א	14	Now because we have maintenance from {the king's} palace, and it was not meet for us to see the king's dishonour, therefore have we sent and certified the king; {we have...: Chaldee, we are salted with the salt of the palace}	وَٱلْآنَ بِمَا إِنَّنَا نَأْكُلُ مِلْحَ دَارِ ٱلْمَلِكِ، وَلَا يَلِيقُ بِنَا أَنْ نَرَى ضَرَرَ ٱلْمَلِكِ، لِذَلِكَ أَرْسَلْنَا فَأَعْلَمْنَا ٱلْمَلِكَ،
דִּ֡י יְבַקַּר֩ בִּֽ/סְפַר דָּכְרָ֨נַיָּ֜/א דִּ֣י אֲבָהָתָ֗/ךְ וּ֠/תְהַשְׁכַּח בִּ/סְפַ֣ר דָּכְרָנַיָּ/א֮ וְ/תִנְדַּע֒ דִּי֩ קִרְיְתָ֨/א דָ֜ךְ קִרְיָ֣א מָֽרָדָ֗א וּֽ/מְהַנְזְקַ֤ת מַלְכִין֙ וּ/מְדִנָ֔ן וְ/אֶשְׁתַּדּוּר֙ עָבְדִ֣ין בְּ/גַוַּ֔/הּ מִן יוֹמָ֖ת עָלְמָ֑/א עַ֨ל דְּנָ֔ה קִרְיְתָ֥/א דָ֖ךְ הָֽחָרְבַֽת	15	That search may be made in the book of the records of thy fathers: so shalt thou find in the book of the records, and know that this city {is} a rebellious city, and hurtful unto kings and provinces, and that they have moved sedition within the same of old time: for which cause was this city destroyed. {moved: Chaldee, made} {within...: Chaldee, in the midst thereof}	لِكَيْ يُفَتَّشَ فِي سِفْرِ أَخْبَارِ آبَائِكَ، فَتَجِدَ فِي سِفْرِ ٱلْأَخْبَارِ وَتَعْلَمَ أَنَّ هَذِهِ ٱلْمَدِينَةَ مَدِينَةٌ عَاصِيَةٌ وَمُضِرَّةٌ لِلْمُلُوكِ وَٱلْبِلَادِ، وَقَدْ عَمِلُوا عِصْيَانًا فِي وَسَطِهَا مُنْذُ ٱلْأَيَّامِ ٱلْقَدِيمَةِ، لِذَلِكَ أُخْرِبَتْ هَذِهِ ٱلْمَدِينَةُ.
מְהוֹדְעִ֤ין אֲנַ֨חְנָה֙ לְ/מַלְכָּ֔/א דִּ֠י הֵ֣ן קִרְיְתָ֥/א דָךְ֙ תִּתְבְּנֵ֔א וְ/שׁוּרַיָּ֖/ה יִֽשְׁתַּכְלְל֑וּן לָ/קֳבֵ֣ל דְּנָ֔ה חֲלָק֙ בַּ/עֲבַ֣ר נַהֲרָ֔/א לָ֥א אִיתַ֖י לָֽ/ךְ	16	We certify the king that, if this city be builded {again}, and the walls thereof set up, by this means thou shalt have no portion on this side the river.	وَنَحْنُ نُعْلِمُ ٱلْمَلِكَ أَنَّهُ إِذَا بُنِيَتْ هَذِهِ ٱلْمَدِينَةُ وَأُكْمِلَتْ أَسْوَارُهَا لَا يَكُونُ لَكَ عِنْدَ ذَلِكَ نَصِيبٌ فِي عَبْرِ ٱلنَّهْرِ».
פִּתְגָמָ֞/א שְׁלַ֣ח מַלְכָּ֗/א עַל רְח֤וּם בְּעֵל טְעֵם֙ וְ/שִׁמְשַׁ֣י סָֽפְרָ֔/א וּ/שְׁאָר֙ כְּנָוָ֣תְ/ה֔וֹן דִּ֥י יָתְבִ֖ין בְּ/שָֽׁמְרָ֑יִן וּ/שְׁאָ֧ר עֲבַֽר נַהֲרָ֛/ה שְׁלָ֖ם וּ/כְעֶֽת	17	{Then} sent the king an answer unto Rehum the chancellor, and {to} Shimshai the scribe, and {to} the rest of their companions that dwell in Samaria, and {unto} the rest beyond the river, Peace, and at such a time. {companions: Chaldee, societies}	فَأَرْسَلَ ٱلْمَلِكُ جَوَابًا: «إِلَى رَحُومَ صَاحِبِ ٱلْقَضَاءِ وَشَمْشَايَ ٱلْكَاتِبِ وَسَائِرِ رُفَقَائِهِمَا ٱلسَّاكِنِينَ فِي ٱلسَّامِرَةِ وَبَاقِي ٱلَّذِينَ فِي عَبْرِ ٱلنَّهْرِ. سَلَامٌ إِلَى آخِرِهِ.
נִשְׁתְּוָנָ֕/א דִּ֥י שְׁלַחְתּ֖וּן עֲלֶ֑י/נָא מְפָרַ֥שׁ קֱרִ֖י קָדָמָֽ/י	18	The letter which ye sent unto us hath been plainly read before me.	ٱلرِّسَالَةُ ٱلَّتِي أَرْسَلْتُمُوهَا إِلَيْنَا قَدْ قُرِئَتْ بِوُضُوحٍ أَمَامِي.
וּ/מִנִּ/י֮ שִׂ֣ים טְעֵם֒ וּ/בַקַּ֣רוּ וְ/הַשְׁכַּ֔חוּ דִּ֚י קִרְיְתָ֣/א דָ֔ךְ מִן יוֹמָת֙ עָֽלְמָ֔/א עַל מַלְכִ֖ין מִֽתְנַשְּׂאָ֑ה וּ/מְרַ֥ד וְ/אֶשְׁתַּדּ֖וּר מִתְעֲבֶד בַּֽ/הּ	19	And I commanded, and search hath been made, and it is found that this city of old time hath made insurrection against kings, and {that} rebellion and sedition have been made therein. {I commanded: Chaldee, by me a decree is set} {made insurrection: Chaldee, lifted up itself}	وَقَدْ خَرَجَ مِنْ عِنْدِي أَمْرٌ فَفَتَّشُوا وَوُجِدَ أَنَّ هَذِهِ ٱلْمَدِينَةَ مُنْذُ ٱلْأَيَّامِ ٱلْقَدِيمَةِ تَقُومُ عَلَى ٱلْمُلُوكِ، وَقَدْ جَرَى فِيهَا تَمَرُّدٌ وَعِصْيَانٌ.
וּ/מַלְכִ֣ין תַּקִּיפִ֗ין הֲווֹ֙ עַל יְר֣וּשְׁלֶ֔ם וְ/שַׁ֨לִּיטִ֔ין בְּ/כֹ֖ל עֲבַ֣ר נַהֲרָ֑/ה וּ/מִדָּ֥ה בְל֛וֹ וַ/הֲלָ֖ךְ מִתְיְהֵ֥ב לְ/הֽוֹן	20	There have been mighty kings also over Jerusalem, which have ruled over all {countries} beyond the river; and toll, tribute, and custom, was paid unto them.	وَقَدْ كَانَ مُلُوكٌ مُقْتَدِرُونَ عَلَى أُورُشَلِيمَ وَتَسَلَّطُوا عَلَى جَمِيعِ عَبْرِ ٱلنَّهْرِ، وَقَدْ أُعْطُوا جِزْيَةً وَخَرَاجًا وَخِفَارَةً.
כְּעַן֙ שִׂ֣ימוּ טְּעֵ֔ם לְ/בַטָּלָ֖א גֻּבְרַיָּ֣/א אִלֵּ֑ךְ וְ/קִרְיְתָ֥/א דָךְ֙ לָ֣א תִתְבְּנֵ֔א עַד מִנִּ֖/י טַעְמָ֥/א יִתְּשָֽׂם	21	Give ye now commandment to cause these men to cease, and that this city be not builded, until {another} commandment shall be given from me. {Give...: Chaldee, Make a decree}	فَٱلْآنَ أَخْرِجُوا أَمْرًا بِتَوْقِيفِ أُولَئِكَ ٱلرِّجَالِ فَلَا تُبْنَى هَذِهِ ٱلْمَدِينَةُ حَتَّى يَصْدُرَ مِنِّي أَمْرٌ.
וּ/זְהִירִ֥ין הֱו֛וֹ שָׁל֖וּ לְ/מֶעְבַּ֣ד עַל דְּנָ֑ה לְ/מָה֙ יִשְׂגֵּ֣א חֲבָלָ֔/א לְ/הַנְזָקַ֖ת מַלְכִֽין	22	Take heed now that ye fail not to do this: why should damage grow to the hurt of the kings?	فَٱحْذَرُوا مِنْ أَنْ تَقْصُرُوا عَنْ عَمَلِ ذَلِكَ. لِمَاذَا يَكْثُرُ ٱلضَّرَرُ لِخَسَارَةِ ٱلْمُلُوكِ؟».
אֱדַ֗יִן מִן דִּ֞י פַּרְשֶׁ֤גֶן נִשְׁתְּוָנָ/א֙ דִּ֚י ארתחששתא אַרְתַּחְשַׁ֣שְׂתְּ מַלְכָּ֔/א קֱרִ֧י קֳדָם רְח֛וּם וְ/שִׁמְשַׁ֥י סָפְרָ֖/א וּ/כְנָוָתְ/ה֑וֹן אֲזַ֨לוּ בִ/בְהִיל֤וּ לִ/ירֽוּשְׁלֶם֙ עַל יְה֣וּדָיֵ֔/א וּ/בַטִּ֥לוּ הִמּ֖וֹ בְּ/אֶדְרָ֥ע וְ/חָֽיִל	23	Now when the copy of king Artaxerxes' letter {was} read before Rehum, and Shimshai the scribe, and their companions, they went up in haste to Jerusalem unto the Jews, and made them to cease by force and power. {by force...: Chaldee, by arm and power}	حِينَئِذٍ لَمَّا قُرِئَتْ رِسَالَةُ أَرْتَحْشَشْتَا ٱلْمَلِكِ أَمَامَ رَحُومَ وَشِمْشَايَ ٱلْكَاتِبِ وَرُفَقَائِهِمَا ذَهَبُوا بِسُرْعَةٍ إِلَى أُورُشَلِيمَ، إِلَى ٱلْيَهُودِ، وَأَوْقَفُوهُمْ بِذِرَاعٍ وَقُوَّةٍ.
בֵּ/אדַ֗יִן בְּטֵלַת֙ עֲבִידַ֣ת בֵּית אֱלָהָ֔/א דִּ֖י בִּ/ירוּשְׁלֶ֑ם וַ/הֲוָת֙ בָּֽטְלָ֔א עַ֚ד שְׁנַ֣ת תַּרְתֵּ֔ין לְ/מַלְכ֖וּת דָּרְיָ֥וֶשׁ מֶֽלֶךְ פָּרָֽס	24	Then ceased the work of the house of God which {is} at Jerusalem. So it ceased unto the second year of the reign of Darius king of Persia.	حِينَئِذٍ تَوَقَّفَ عَمَلُ بَيْتِ ٱللهِ ٱلَّذِي فِي أُورُشَلِيمَ، وَكَانَ مُتَوَقِّفًا إِلَى ٱلسَّنَةِ ٱلثَّانِيَةِ مِنْ مُلْكِ دَارِيُوسَ مَلِكِ فَارِسَ.

וְ/הִתְנַבִּ֞י חַגַּ֣י נביא/ה נְבִיָּ֗/א וּ/זְכַרְיָ֤ה בַר עִדּוֹא֙ נביאי/א נְבִיַּיָּ֔/א עַל יְה֣וּדָיֵ֔/א דִּ֥י בִ/יה֖וּד וּ/בִ/ירוּשְׁלֶ֑ם בְּ/שֻׁ֛ם אֱלָ֥הּ יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל עֲלֵי/הֽוֹן	1	Then the prophets, Haggai the prophet, and Zechariah the son of Iddo, prophesied unto the Jews that {were} in Judah and Jerusalem in the name of the God of Israel, {even} unto them.	فَتَنَبَّأَ ٱلنَّبِيَّانِ حَجَّيِ ٱلنَّبِيُّ وَزَكَرِيَّا بْنُ عِدُّوَ لِلْيَهُودِ ٱلَّذِينَ فِي يَهُوذَا وَأُورُشَلِيمَ بِٱسْمِ إِلَهِ إِسْرَائِيلَ عَلَيْهِمْ.
בֵּ/אדַ֡יִן קָ֠מוּ זְרֻבָּבֶ֤ל בַּר שְׁאַלְתִּיאֵל֙ וְ/יֵשׁ֣וּעַ בַּר יֽוֹצָדָ֔ק וְ/שָׁרִ֣יו לְ/מִבְנֵ֔א בֵּ֥ית אֱלָהָ֖/א דִּ֣י בִ/ירֽוּשְׁלֶ֑ם וְ/עִמְּ/ה֛וֹן נביאי/א נְבִיַּיָּ֥/א דִֽי אֱלָהָ֖/א מְסָעֲדִ֥ין לְ/הֽוֹן	2	Then rose up Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and began to build the house of God which {is} at Jerusalem: and with them {were} the prophets of God helping them.	حِينَئِذٍ قَامَ زَرُبَّابِلُ بْنُ شَأَلْتِئِيلَ وَيَشُوعُ بْنُ يُوصَادَاقَ، وَشَرَعَا بِبُنْيَانِ بَيْتِ ٱللهِ ٱلَّذِي فِي أُورُشَلِيمَ، وَمَعَهُمَا أَنْبِيَاءُ ٱللهِ يُسَاعِدُونَهُمَا.
בֵּ/הּ זִמְנָ/א֩ אֲתָ֨א עֲלֵי/ה֜וֹן תַּ֠תְּנַי פַּחַ֧ת עֲבַֽר נַהֲרָ֛/ה וּ/שְׁתַ֥ר בּוֹזְנַ֖י וּ/כְנָוָתְ/ה֑וֹן וְ/כֵן֙ אָמְרִ֣ין לְ/הֹ֔ם מַן שָׂ֨ם לְ/כֹ֜ם טְעֵ֗ם בַּיְתָ֤/א דְנָה֙ לִ/בְּנֵ֔א וְ/אֻשַּׁרְנָ֥/א דְנָ֖ה לְ/שַׁכְלָלָֽה	3	At the same time came to them Tatnai, governor on this side the river, and Shetharboznai, and their companions, and said thus unto them, Who hath commanded you to build this house, and to make up this wall?	فِي ذَلِكَ ٱلزَّمَانِ جَاءَ إِلَيْهِمْ تَتْنَايُ وَالِي عَبْرِ ٱلنَّهْرِ وَشَتَرْبُوزْنَايُ وَرُفَقَاؤُهُمَا وَقَالُوا لَهُمْ هَكَذَا: «مَنْ أَمَرَكُمْ أَنْ تَبْنُوا هَذَا ٱلْبَيْتَ وَتُكَمِّلُوا هَذَا ٱلسُّورَ؟».
אֱדַ֥יִן כְּנֵ֖מָא אֲמַ֣רְנָא לְּ/הֹ֑ם מַן אִנּוּן֙ שְׁמָהָ֣ת גֻּבְרַיָּ֔/א דִּֽי דְנָ֥ה בִנְיָנָ֖/א בָּנַֽיִן	4	Then said we unto them after this manner, What are the names of the men that make this building? {make: Chaldee, build}	حِينَئِذٍ أَخْبَرْنَاهُمْ عَلَى هَذَا ٱلْمَنْوَالِ مَا هِيَ أَسْمَاءُ ٱلرِّجَالِ ٱلَّذِينَ يَبْنُونَ هَذَا ٱلْبِنَاءَ.
וְ/עֵ֣ין אֱלָהֲ/הֹ֗ם הֲוָת֙ עַל שָׂבֵ֣י יְהוּדָיֵ֔/א וְ/לָא בַטִּ֣לוּ הִמּ֔וֹ עַד טַעְמָ֖/א לְ/דָרְיָ֣וֶשׁ יְהָ֑ךְ וֶ/אֱדַ֛יִן יְתִיב֥וּן נִשְׁתְּוָנָ֖/א עַל דְּנָֽה	5	But the eye of their God was upon the elders of the Jews, that they could not cause them to cease, till the matter came to Darius: and then they returned answer by letter concerning this {matter}.	وَكَانَتْ عَلَى شُيُوخِ ٱلْيَهُودِ عَيْنُ إِلَهِهِمْ فَلَمْ يُوقِفُوهُمْ حَتَّى وَصَلَ ٱلْأَمْرُ إِلَى دَارِيُوسَ، وَحِينَئِذٍ جَاوَبُوا بِرِسَالَةٍ عَنْ هَذَا.
פַּרְשֶׁ֣גֶן אִ֠גַּרְתָּ/א דִּֽי שְׁלַ֞ח תַּתְּנַ֣י פַּחַ֣ת עֲבַֽר נַהֲרָ֗/ה וּ/שְׁתַ֤ר בּוֹזְנַי֙ וּ/כְנָ֣וָתֵ֔/הּ אֲפַ֨רְסְכָיֵ֔/א דִּ֖י בַּ/עֲבַ֣ר נַהֲרָ֑/ה עַל דָּרְיָ֖וֶשׁ מַלְכָּֽ/א	6	The copy of the letter that Tatnai, governor on this side the river, and Shetharboznai, and his companions the Apharsachites, which {were} on this side the river, sent unto Darius the king:	صُورَةُ ٱلرِّسَالَةِ ٱلَّتِي أَرْسَلَهَا تَتْنَايُ وَالِي عَبْرِ ٱلنَّهْرِ وَشَتَرْبُوزْنَايُ وَرُفَقَاؤُهُمَا ٱلْأَفَرْسَكِيِّينَ ٱلَّذِينَ فِي عَبْرِ ٱلنَّهْرِ إِلَى دَارِيُوسَ ٱلْمَلِكِ.
פִּתְגָמָ֖/א שְׁלַ֣חוּ עֲל֑וֹ/הִי וְ/כִ/דְנָה֙ כְּתִ֣יב בְּ/גַוֵּ֔/הּ לְ/דָרְיָ֥וֶשׁ מַלְכָּ֖/א שְׁלָמָ֥/א כֹֽלָּ/א	7	They sent a letter unto him, wherein was written thus; Unto Darius the king, all peace. {wherein: Chaldee, in the midst whereof}	أَرْسَلُوا إِلَيْهِ رِسَالَةً وَكَانَ مَكْتُوبًا فِيهَا هَكَذَا: «لِدَارِيُوسَ ٱلْمَلِكِ كُلُّ سَلَامٍ.
יְדִ֣יעַ לֶהֱוֵ֣א לְ/מַלְכָּ֗/א דִּֽי אֲזַ֜לְנָא לִ/יה֤וּד מְדִֽינְתָּ/א֙ לְ/בֵית֙ אֱלָהָ֣/א רַבָּ֔/א וְ/ה֤וּא מִתְבְּנֵא֙ אֶ֣בֶן גְּלָ֔ל וְ/אָ֖ע מִתְּשָׂ֣ם בְּ/כֻתְלַיָּ֑/א וַ/עֲבִ֥ידְתָּ/א דָ֛ךְ אָסְפַּ֥רְנָא מִתְעַבְדָ֖א וּ/מַצְלַ֥ח בְּ/יֶדְ/הֹֽם	8	Be it known unto the king, that we went into the province of Judea, to the house of the great God, which is builded with great stones, and timber is laid in the walls, and this work goeth fast on, and prospereth in their hands. {great...: Chaldee, stones of rolling}	لِيَكُنْ مَعْلُومًا لَدَى ٱلْمَلِكِ أَنَّنَا ذَهَبْنَا إِلَى بِلَادِ يَهُوذَا، إِلَى بَيْتِ ٱلْإِلَهِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ، وَإِذَا بِهِ يُبْنَى بِحِجَارَةٍ عَظِيمَةٍ، وَيُوضَعُ خَشَبٌ فِي ٱلْحِيطَانِ. وَهَذَا ٱلْعَمَلُ يُعْمَلُ بِسُرْعَةٍ وَيَنْجَحُ فِي أَيْدِيهِمْ.
אֱדַ֗יִן שְׁאֵ֨לְנָא֙ לְ/שָׂבַיָּ֣/א אִלֵּ֔ךְ כְּנֵ֖מָא אֲמַ֣רְנָא לְּ/הֹ֑ם מַן שָׂ֨ם לְ/כֹ֜ם טְעֵ֗ם בַּיְתָ֤/א דְנָה֙ לְ/מִבְנְיָ֔ה וְ/אֻשַּׁרְנָ֥/א דְנָ֖ה לְ/שַׁכְלָלָֽה	9	Then asked we those elders, {and} said unto them thus, Who commanded you to build this house, and to make up these walls?	حِينَئِذٍ سَأَلْنَا أُولَئِكَ ٱلشُّيُوخَ وَقُلْنَا لَهُمْ هَكَذَا: مَنْ أَمَرَكُمْ بِبِنَاءِ هَذَا ٱلْبَيْتِ وَتَكْمِيلِ هَذِهِ ٱلْأَسْوَارِ؟
וְ/אַ֧ף שְׁמָהָתְ/הֹ֛ם שְׁאֵ֥לְנָא לְּ/הֹ֖ם לְ/הוֹדָעוּתָ֑/ךְ דִּ֛י נִכְתֻּ֥ב שֻׁם גֻּבְרַיָּ֖/א דִּ֥י בְ/רָאשֵׁי/הֹֽם	10	We asked their names also, to certify thee, that we might write the names of the men that {were} the chief of them.	وَسَأَلْنَاهُمْ أَيْضًا عَنْ أَسْمَائِهِمْ لِنُعْلِمَكَ، وَكَتَبْنَا أَسْمَاءَ ٱلرِّجَالِ رُؤُوسِهِمْ.
וּ/כְנֵ֥מָא פִתְגָמָ֖/א הֲתִיב֣וּ/נָא לְ/מֵמַ֑ר אֲנַ֣חְנָא הִמּ֡וֹ עַבְדוֹ/הִי֩ דִֽי אֱלָ֨הּ שְׁמַיָּ֜/א וְ/אַרְעָ֗/א וּ/בָנַ֤יִן בַּיְתָ/א֙ דִּֽי הֲוָ֨א בְנֵ֜ה מִ/קַּדְמַ֤ת דְּנָה֙ שְׁנִ֣ין שַׂגִּיאָ֔ן וּ/מֶ֤לֶךְ לְ/יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ רַ֔ב בְּנָ֖/הִי וְ/שַׁכְלְלֵֽ/הּ	11	And thus they returned us answer, saying, We are the servants of the God of heaven and earth, and build the house that was builded these many years ago, which a great king of Israel builded and set up.	وَبِمِثْلِ هَذَا ٱلْجَوَابِ جَاوَبُوا قَائِلِينَ: نَحْنُ عَبِيدُ إِلَهِ ٱلسَّمَاءِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ، وَنَبْنِي هَذَا ٱلْبَيْتَ ٱلَّذِي بُنِيَ قَبْلَ هَذِهِ ٱلسِّنِينَ ٱلْكَثِيرَةِ، وَقَدْ بَنَاهُ مَلِكٌ عَظِيمٌ لِإِسْرَائِيلَ وَأَكْمَلَهُ.
לָהֵ֗ן מִן דִּ֨י הַרְגִּ֤זוּ אֲבָהֳתַ֨/נָא֙ לֶ/אֱלָ֣הּ שְׁמַיָּ֔/א יְהַ֣ב הִמּ֔וֹ בְּ/יַ֛ד נְבוּכַדְנֶצַּ֥ר מֶֽלֶךְ בָּבֶ֖ל כסדי/א כַּסְדָּאָ֑/ה וּ/בַיְתָ֤/ה דְנָה֙ סַתְרֵ֔/הּ וְ/עַמָּ֖/ה הַגְלִ֥י לְ/בָבֶֽל	12	But after that our fathers had provoked the God of heaven unto wrath, he gave them into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, the Chaldean, who destroyed this house, and carried the people away into Babylon.	وَلَكِنْ بَعْدَ أَنْ أَسْخَطَ آبَاؤُنَا إِلَهَ ٱلسَّمَاءِ دَفَعَهُمْ لِيَدِ نَبُوخَذْنَصَّرَ مَلِكِ بَابِلَ ٱلْكَلْدَانِيِّ، ٱلَّذِي هَدَمَ هَذَا ٱلْبَيْتَ وَسَبَى ٱلشَّعْبَ إِلَى بَابِلَ.
בְּרַם֙ בִּ/שְׁנַ֣ת חֲדָ֔ה לְ/כ֥וֹרֶשׁ מַלְכָּ֖/א דִּ֣י בָבֶ֑ל כּ֤וֹרֶשׁ מַלְכָּ/א֙ שָׂ֣ם טְעֵ֔ם בֵּית אֱלָהָ֥/א דְנָ֖ה לִ/בְּנֵֽא	13	But in the first year of Cyrus the king of Babylon {the same} king Cyrus made a decree to build this house of God.	عَلَى أَنَّهُ فِي ٱلسَّنَةِ ٱلْأُولَى لِكُورَشَ مَلِكَ بَابِلَ، أَصْدَرَ كُورَشُ ٱلْمَلِكُ أَمْرًا بِبِنَاءِ بَيْتِ ٱللهِ هَذَا.
וְ֠/אַף מָאנַיָּ֣/א דִֽי בֵית אֱלָהָ/א֮ דִּ֣י דַהֲבָ֣/ה וְ/כַסְפָּ/א֒ דִּ֣י נְבוּכַדְנֶצַּ֗ר הַנְפֵּק֙ מִן הֵֽיכְלָ/א֙ דִּ֣י בִֽ/ירוּשְׁלֶ֔ם וְ/הֵיבֵ֣ל הִמּ֔וֹ לְ/הֵיכְלָ֖/א דִּ֣י בָבֶ֑ל הַנְפֵּ֨ק הִמּ֜וֹ כּ֣וֹרֶשׁ מַלְכָּ֗/א מִן הֵֽיכְלָ/א֙ דִּ֣י בָבֶ֔ל וִ/יהִ֨יבוּ֙ לְ/שֵׁשְׁבַּצַּ֣ר שְׁמֵ֔/הּ דִּ֥י פֶחָ֖ה שָׂמֵֽ/הּ	14	And the vessels also of gold and silver of the house of God, which Nebuchadnezzar took out of the temple that {was} in Jerusalem, and brought them into the temple of Babylon, those did Cyrus the king take out of the temple of Babylon, and they were delivered unto {one}, whose name {was} Sheshbazzar, whom he had made governor; {governor: or, deputy}	حَتَّى إِنَّ آنِيَةَ بَيْتِ ٱللهِ هَذَا، ٱلَّتِي مِنْ ذَهَبٍ وَفِضَّةٍ، ٱلَّتِي أَخْرَجَهَا نَبُوخَذْنَصَّرُ مِنَ ٱلْهَيْكَلِ ٱلَّذِي فِي أُورُشَلِيمَ وَأَتَى بِهَا إِلَى ٱلْهَيْكَلِ ٱلَّذِي فِي بَابِلَ، أَخْرَجَهَا كُورَشُ ٱلْمَلِكُ مِنَ ٱلْهَيْكَلِ ٱلَّذِي فِي بَابِلَ وَأُعْطِيَتْ لِوَاحِدٍ ٱسْمُهُ شِيشْبَصَّرُ ٱلَّذِي جَعَلَهُ وَالِيًا.
וַ/אֲמַר לֵ֓/הּ אלה אֵ֚ל מָֽאנַיָּ֔/א שֵׂ֚א אֵֽזֶל אֲחֵ֣ת הִמּ֔וֹ בְּ/הֵיכְלָ֖/א דִּ֣י בִ/ירוּשְׁלֶ֑ם וּ/בֵ֥ית אֱלָהָ֖/א יִתְבְּנֵ֥א עַל אַתְרֵֽ/הּ	15	And said unto him, Take these vessels, go, carry them into the temple that {is} in Jerusalem, and let the house of God be builded in his place.	وَقَالَ لَهُ: خُذْ هَذِهِ ٱلْآنِيَةَ وَٱذْهَبْ وَٱحْمِلْهَا إِلَى ٱلْهَيْكَلِ ٱلَّذِي فِي أُورُشَلِيمَ، وَلْيُبْنَ بَيْتُ ٱللهِ فِي مَكَانِهِ.
אֱדַ֨יִן֙ שֵׁשְׁבַּצַּ֣ר דֵּ֔ךְ אֲתָ֗א יְהַ֧ב אֻשַּׁיָּ֛/א דִּי בֵ֥ית אֱלָהָ֖/א דִּ֣י בִ/ירוּשְׁלֶ֑ם וּ/מִן אֱדַ֧יִן וְ/עַד כְּעַ֛ן מִתְבְּנֵ֖א וְ/לָ֥א שְׁלִֽם	16	Then came the same Sheshbazzar, {and} laid the foundation of the house of God which {is} in Jerusalem: and since that time even until now hath it been in building, and {yet} it is not finished.	حِينَئِذٍ جَاءَ شِيشْبَصَّرُ هَذَا وَوَضَعَ أَسَاسَ بَيْتِ ٱللهِ ٱلَّذِي فِي أُورُشَلِيمَ، وَمِنْ ذَلِكَ ٱلْوَقْتِ إِلَى ٱلْآنَ يُبْنَى وَلَمْ يُكْمَلْ.
וּ/כְעַ֞ן הֵ֧ן עַל מַלְכָּ֣/א טָ֗ב יִ֠תְבַּקַּר בְּ/בֵ֨ית גִּנְזַיָּ֜/א דִּי מַלְכָּ֣/א תַמָּה֮ דִּ֣י בְּ/בָבֶל֒ הֵ֣ן אִיתַ֗י דִּֽי מִן כּ֤וֹרֶשׁ מַלְכָּ/א֙ שִׂ֣ים טְעֵ֔ם לְ/מִבְנֵ֛א בֵּית אֱלָהָ֥/א דֵ֖ךְ בִּ/ירוּשְׁלֶ֑ם וּ/רְע֥וּת מַלְכָּ֛/א עַל דְּנָ֖ה יִשְׁלַ֥ח עֲלֶֽי/נָא	17	Now therefore, if {it seem} good to the king, let there be search made in the king's treasure house, which {is} there at Babylon, whether it be {so}, that a decree was made of Cyrus the king to build this house of God at Jerusalem, and let the king send his pleasure to us concerning this matter.	وَٱلْآنَ إِذَا حَسُنَ عِنْدَ ٱلْمَلِكِ فَلْيُفَتَّشْ فِي بَيْتِ خَزَائِنِ ٱلْمَلِكِ ٱلَّذِي هُوَ هُنَاكَ فِي بَابِلَ: هَلْ كَانَ قَدْ صَدَرَ أَمْرٌ مِنْ كُورَشَ ٱلْمَلِكِ بِبِنَاءِ بَيْتِ ٱللهِ هَذَا فِي أُورُشَلِيمَ؟ وَلْيُرْسِلِ ٱلْمَلِكُ إِلَيْنَا مُرَادَهُ فِي ذَلِكَ».

בֵּ/אדַ֛יִן דָּרְיָ֥וֶשׁ מַלְכָּ֖/א שָׂ֣ם טְעֵ֑ם וּ/בַקַּ֣רוּ בְּ/בֵ֣ית סִפְרַיָּ֗/א דִּ֧י גִנְזַיָּ֛/א מְהַחֲתִ֥ין תַּמָּ֖ה בְּ/בָבֶֽל	1	Then Darius the king made a decree, and search was made in the house of the rolls, where the treasures were laid up in Babylon. {rolls: Chaldee, books} {laid up: Chaldee, made to descend}	حِينَئِذٍ أَمَرَ دَارِيُوسُ ٱلْمَلِكُ فَفَتَّشُوا فِي بَيْتِ ٱلْأَسْفَارِ حَيْثُ كَانَتِ ٱلْخَزَائِنُ مَوْضُوعَةً فِي بَابِلَ،
וְ/הִשְׁתְּכַ֣ח בְּ/אַחְמְתָ֗א בְּ/בִֽירְתָ֛/א דִּ֛י בְּ/מָדַ֥י מְדִינְתָּ֖/ה מְגִלָּ֣ה חֲדָ֑ה וְ/כֵן כְּתִ֥יב בְּ/גַוַּ֖/הּ דִּכְרוֹנָֽ/ה	2	And there was found at Achmetha, in the palace that {is} in the province of the Medes, a roll, and therein {was} a record thus written: {Achmetha: or, Ecbatana, or, in a coffer}	فَوُجِدَ فِي أَحْمَثَا، فِي ٱلْقَصْرِ ٱلَّذِي فِي بِلَادِ مَادِي، دَرْجٌ مَكْتُوبٌ فِيهِ هَكَذَا: «تَذْكَارٌ.
בִּ/שְׁנַ֨ת חֲדָ֜ה לְ/כ֣וֹרֶשׁ מַלְכָּ֗/א כּ֣וֹרֶשׁ מַלְכָּ/א֮ שָׂ֣ם טְעֵם֒ בֵּית אֱלָהָ֤/א בִֽ/ירוּשְׁלֶם֙ בַּיְתָ֣/א יִתְבְּנֵ֔א אֲתַר֙ דִּֽי דָבְחִ֣ין דִּבְחִ֔ין וְ/אֻשּׁ֖וֹ/הִי מְסֽוֹבְלִ֑ין רוּמֵ/הּ֙ אַמִּ֣ין שִׁתִּ֔ין פְּתָיֵ֖/הּ אַמִּ֥ין שִׁתִּֽין	3	In the first year of Cyrus the king {the same} Cyrus the king made a decree {concerning} the house of God at Jerusalem, Let the house be builded, the place where they offered sacrifices, and let the foundations thereof be strongly laid; the height thereof threescore cubits, {and} the breadth thereof threescore cubits;	فِي ٱلسَّنَةِ ٱلْأُولَى لِكُورَشَ ٱلْمَلِكِ، أَمَرَ كُورَشُ ٱلْمَلِكُ مِنْ جِهَةِ بَيْتِ ٱللهِ فِي أُورُشَلِيمَ: لِيُبْنَ ٱلْبَيْتُ، ٱلْمَكَانُ ٱلَّذِي يَذْبَحُونَ فِيهِ ذَبَائِحَ، وَلْتُوضَعْ أُسُسُهُ، ٱرْتِفَاعُهُ سِتُّونَ ذِرَاعًا وَعَرْضُهُ سِتُّونَ ذِرَاعًا.
נִדְבָּכִ֞ין דִּי אֶ֤בֶן גְּלָל֙ תְּלָתָ֔א וְ/נִדְבָּ֖ךְ דִּי אָ֣ע חֲדַ֑ת וְ/נִ֨פְקְתָ֔/א מִן בֵּ֥ית מַלְכָּ֖/א תִּתְיְהִֽב	4	{With} three rows of great stones, and a row of new timber: and let the expenses be given out of the king's house:	بِثَلَاثَةِ صُفُوفٍ مِنْ حِجَارَةٍ عَظِيمَةٍ، وَصَفٍّ مِنْ خَشَبٍ جَدِيدٍ. وَلْتُعْطَ ٱلنَّفَقَةُ مِنْ بَيْتِ ٱلْمَلِكِ.
וְ֠/אַף מָאנֵ֣י בֵית אֱלָהָ/א֮ דִּ֣י דַהֲבָ֣/ה וְ/כַסְפָּ/א֒ דִּ֣י נְבֽוּכַדְנֶצַּ֗ר הַנְפֵּ֛ק מִן הֵיכְלָ֥/א דִי בִ/ירוּשְׁלֶ֖ם וְ/הֵיבֵ֣ל לְ/בָבֶ֑ל יַהֲתִיב֗וּן וִ֠/יהָךְ לְ/הֵיכְלָ֤/א דִי בִ/ירֽוּשְׁלֶם֙ לְ/אַתְרֵ֔/הּ וְ/תַחֵ֖ת בְּ/בֵ֥ית אֱלָהָֽ/א	5	And also let the golden and silver vessels of the house of God, which Nebuchadnezzar took forth out of the temple which {is} at Jerusalem, and brought unto Babylon, be restored, and brought again unto the temple which {is} at Jerusalem, {every one} to his place, and place {them} in the house of God. {brought again: Chaldee, go}	وَأَيْضًا آنِيَةُ بَيْتِ ٱللهِ، ٱلَّتِي مِنْ ذَهَبٍ وَفِضَّةٍ، ٱلَّتِي أَخْرَجَهَا نَبُوخَذْنَصَّرُ مِنَ ٱلْهَيْكَلِ ٱلَّذِي فِي أُورُشَلِيمَ وَأَتَى بِهَا إِلَى بَابِلَ، فَلْتُرَدَّ وَتُرْجَعْ إِلَى ٱلْهَيْكَلِ ٱلَّذِي فِي أُورُشَلِيمَ إِلَى مَكَانِهَا، وَتُوضَعْ فِي بَيْتِ ٱللهِ».
כְּעַ֡ן תַּ֠תְּנַי פַּחַ֨ת עֲבַֽר נַהֲרָ֜/ה שְׁתַ֤ר בּוֹזְנַי֙ וּ/כְנָוָ֣תְ/ה֔וֹן אֲפַרְסְכָיֵ֔/א דִּ֖י בַּ/עֲבַ֣ר נַהֲרָ֑/ה רַחִיקִ֥ין הֲו֖וֹ מִן תַּמָּֽה	6	Now {therefore}, Tatnai, governor beyond the river, Shetharboznai, and your companions the Apharsachites, which {are} beyond the river, be ye far from thence: {your...: Chaldee, their societies}	«وَٱلْآنَ يَا تَتْنَايُ وَالِي عَبْرِ ٱلنَّهْرِ وَشَتَرْبُوزْنَايُ وَرُفَقَاءَكُمَا ٱلْأَفَرْسَكِيِّينَ ٱلَّذِينَ فِي عَبْرِ ٱلنَّهْرِ، ٱبْتَعِدُوا مِنْ هُنَاكَ.
שְׁבֻ֕קוּ לַ/עֲבִידַ֖ת בֵּית אֱלָהָ֣/א דֵ֑ךְ פַּחַ֤ת יְהוּדָיֵ/א֙ וּ/לְ/שָׂבֵ֣י יְהוּדָיֵ֔/א בֵּית אֱלָהָ֥/א דֵ֖ךְ יִבְנ֥וֹן עַל אַתְרֵֽ/הּ	7	Let the work of this house of God alone; let the governor of the Jews and the elders of the Jews build this house of God in his place.	ٱتْرُكُوا عَمَلَ بَيْتِ ٱللهِ هَذَا. أَمَّا وَالِي ٱلْيَهُودِ وَشُيُوخُ ٱلْيَهُودِ فَلْيَبْنُوا بَيْتَ ٱللهِ هَذَا فِي مَكَانِهِ.
וּ/מִנִּ/י֮ שִׂ֣ים טְעֵם֒ לְ/מָ֣א דִֽי תַֽעַבְד֗וּן עִם שָׂבֵ֤י יְהוּדָיֵ/א֙ אִלֵּ֔ךְ לְ/מִבְנֵ֖א בֵּית אֱלָהָ֣/א דֵ֑ךְ וּ/מִ/נִּכְסֵ֣י מַלְכָּ֗/א דִּ֚י מִדַּת֙ עֲבַ֣ר נַהֲרָ֔/ה אָסְפַּ֗רְנָא נִפְקְתָ֛/א תֶּהֱוֵ֧א מִֽתְיַהֲבָ֛א לְ/גֻבְרַיָּ֥/א אִלֵּ֖ךְ דִּי לָ֥א לְ/בַטָּלָֽא	8	Moreover I make a decree what ye shall do to the elders of these Jews for the building of this house of God: that of the king's goods, {even} of the tribute beyond the river, forthwith expenses be given unto these men, that they be not hindered. {I make...: Chaldee, by me a decree is made} {hindered: Chaldee, made to cease}	وَقَدْ صَدَرَ مِنِّي أَمْرٌ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ مَعَ شُيُوخِ ٱلْيَهُودِ هَؤُلَاءِ فِي بِنَاءِ بَيْتِ ٱللهِ هَذَا. فَمِنْ مَالِ ٱلْمَلِكِ، مِنْ جِزْيَةِ عَبْرِ ٱلنَّهْرِ، تُعْطَ ٱلنَّفَقَةُ عَاجِلًا لِهَؤُلَاءِ ٱلرِّجَالِ حَتَّى لَا يَبْطُلُوا.
וּ/מָ֣ה חַשְׁחָ֡ן וּ/בְנֵ֣י תוֹרִ֣ין וְ/דִכְרִ֣ין וְ/אִמְּרִ֣ין לַ/עֲלָוָ֣ן לֶ/אֱלָ֪הּ שְׁמַיָּ֟/א חִנְטִ֞ין מְלַ֣ח חֲמַ֣ר וּ/מְשַׁ֗ח כְּ/מֵאמַ֨ר כָּהֲנַיָּ֤/א דִי בִ/ירֽוּשְׁלֶם֙ לֶהֱוֵ֨א מִתְיְהֵ֥ב לְ/הֹ֛ם י֥וֹם בְּ/י֖וֹם דִּי לָ֥א שָׁלֽוּ	9	And that which they have need of, both young bullocks, and rams, and lambs, for the burnt offerings of the God of heaven, wheat, salt, wine, and oil, according to the appointment of the priests which {are} at Jerusalem, let it be given them day by day without fail:	وَمَا يَحْتَاجُونَ إِلَيْهِ مِنَ ٱلثِّيرَانِ وَٱلْكِبَاشِ وَٱلْخِرَافِ مُحْرَقَةً لِإِلَهِ ٱلسَّمَاءِ، وَحِنْطَةٍ وَمِلْحٍ وَخَمْرٍ وَزَيْتٍ حَسَبَ قَوْلِ ٱلْكَهَنَةِ ٱلَّذِينَ فِي أُورُشَلِيمَ، لِتُعْطَ لَهُمْ يَوْمًا فَيَوْمًا حَتَّى لَا يَهْدَأُوا
דִּֽי לֶהֱוֺ֧ן מְהַקְרְבִ֛ין נִיחוֹחִ֖ין לֶ/אֱלָ֣הּ שְׁמַיָּ֑/א וּ/מְצַלַּ֕יִן לְ/חַיֵּ֥י מַלְכָּ֖/א וּ/בְנֽוֹ/הִי	10	That they may offer sacrifices of sweet savours unto the God of heaven, and pray for the life of the king, and of his sons. {of sweet...: Chaldee, of rest}	عَنْ تَقْرِيبِ رَوَائِحِ سُرُورٍ لِإِلَهِ ٱلسَّمَاءِ، وَٱلصَّلَاةِ لِأَجْلِ حَيَاةِ ٱلْمَلِكِ وَبَنِيهِ.
וּ/מִנִּ/י֮ שִׂ֣ים טְעֵם֒ דִּ֣י כָל אֱנָ֗שׁ דִּ֤י יְהַשְׁנֵא֙ פִּתְגָמָ֣/א דְנָ֔ה יִתְנְסַ֥ח אָע֙ מִן בַּיְתֵ֔/הּ וּ/זְקִ֖יף יִתְמְחֵ֣א עֲלֹ֑/הִי וּ/בַיְתֵ֛/הּ נְוָל֥וּ יִתְעֲבֵ֖ד עַל דְּנָֽה	11	Also I have made a decree, that whosoever shall alter this word, let timber be pulled down from his house, and being set up, let him be hanged thereon; and let his house be made a dunghill for this. {let him...: Chaldee, let him be destroyed}	وَقَدْ صَدَرَ مِنِّي أَمْرٌ أَنَّ كُلَّ إِنْسَانٍ يُغَيِّرُ هَذَا ٱلْكَلَامَ تُسْحَبُ خَشَبَةٌ مِنْ بَيْتِهِ وَيُعَلَّقُ مَصْلُوبًا عَلَيْهَا، وَيُجْعَلُ بَيْتُهُ مَزْبَلَةً مِنْ أَجْلِ هَذَا.
וֵֽ/אלָהָ֞/א דִּ֣י שַׁכִּ֧ן שְׁמֵ֣/הּ תַּמָּ֗ה יְמַגַּ֞ר כָּל מֶ֤לֶךְ וְ/עַם֙ דִּ֣י יִשְׁלַ֣ח יְדֵ֗/הּ לְ/הַשְׁנָיָ֛ה לְ/חַבָּלָ֛ה בֵּית אֱלָהָ֥/א דֵ֖ךְ דִּ֣י בִ/ירוּשְׁלֶ֑ם אֲנָ֤ה דָרְיָ֨וֶשׁ֙ שָׂ֣מֶת טְעֵ֔ם אָסְפַּ֖רְנָא יִתְעֲבִֽד	12	And the God that hath caused his name to dwell there destroy all kings and people, that shall put to their hand to alter {and} to destroy this house of God which {is} at Jerusalem. I Darius have made a decree; let it be done with speed.	وَٱللهُ ٱلَّذِي أَسْكَنَ ٱسْمَهُ هُنَاكَ يُهْلِكُ كُلَّ مَلِكٍ وَشَعْبٍ يَمُدُّ يَدَهُ لِتَغْيِيرِ أَوْ لِهَدْمِ بَيْتِ ٱللهِ هَذَا ٱلَّذِي فِي أُورُشَلِيمَ. أَنَا دَارِيُوسُ قَدْ أَمَرْتُ فَلْيُفْعَلْ عَاجِلًا».
אֱ֠דַיִן תַּתְּנַ֞י פַּחַ֧ת עֲבַֽר נַהֲרָ֛/ה שְׁתַ֥ר בּוֹזְנַ֖י וּ/כְנָוָתְ/ה֑וֹן לָ/קֳבֵ֗ל דִּֽי שְׁלַ֞ח דָּרְיָ֧וֶשׁ מַלְכָּ֛/א כְּנֵ֖מָא אָסְפַּ֥רְנָא עֲבַֽדוּ	13	Then Tatnai, governor on this side the river, Shetharboznai, and their companions, according to that which Darius the king had sent, so they did speedily.	حِينَئِذٍ تَتْنَايُ وَالِي عَبْرِ ٱلنَّهْرِ وَشَتَرْبُوزْنَايُ وَرُفَقَاؤُهُمَا عَمِلُوا عَاجِلًا حَسْبَمَا أَرْسَلَ دَارِيُوسُ ٱلْمَلِكُ.
וְ/שָׂבֵ֤י יְהוּדָיֵ/א֙ בָּנַ֣יִן וּ/מַצְלְחִ֔ין בִּ/נְבוּאַת֙ חַגַּ֣י נביא/ה נְבִיָּ֔/א וּ/זְכַרְיָ֖ה בַּר עִדּ֑וֹא וּ/בְנ֣וֹ וְ/שַׁכְלִ֗לוּ מִן טַ֨עַם֙ אֱלָ֣הּ יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וּ/מִ/טְּעֵם֙ כּ֣וֹרֶשׁ וְ/דָרְיָ֔וֶשׁ וְ/אַרְתַּחְשַׁ֖שְׂתְּא מֶ֥לֶךְ פָּרָֽס	14	And the elders of the Jews builded, and they prospered through the prophesying of Haggai the prophet and Zechariah the son of Iddo. And they builded, and finished {it}, according to the commandment of the God of Israel, and according to the commandment of Cyrus, and Darius, and Artaxerxes king of Persia. {commandment: Chaldee, decree}	وَكَانَ شُيُوخُ ٱلْيَهُودِ يَبْنُونَ وَيَنْجَحُونَ حَسَبَ نُبُوَّةِ حَجَّيِ ٱلنَّبِيِّ وَزَكَرِيَّا بْنِ عِدُّو. فَبَنَوْا وَأَكْمَلُوا حَسَبَ أَمْرِ إِلَهِ إِسْرَائِيلَ وَأَمْرِ كُورَشَ وَدَارِيُوسَ وَأَرْتَحْشَشْتَا مَلِكِ فَارِسَ.
וְ/שֵׁיצִיא֙ בַּיְתָ֣/ה דְנָ֔ה עַ֛ד י֥וֹם תְּלָתָ֖ה לִ/ירַ֣ח אֲדָ֑ר דִּי הִ֣יא שְׁנַת שֵׁ֔ת לְ/מַלְכ֖וּת דָּרְיָ֥וֶשׁ מַלְכָּֽ/א	15	And this house was finished on the third day of the month Adar, which was in the sixth year of the reign of Darius the king.	وَكَمِلَ هَذَا ٱلْبَيْتُ فِي ٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلثَّالِثِ مِنْ شَهْرِ أَذَارَ فِي ٱلسَّنَةِ ٱلسَّادِسَةِ مِنْ مُلْكِ دَارِيُوسَ ٱلْمَلِكِ.
וַ/עֲבַ֣דוּ בְנֵֽי יִ֠שְׂרָאֵל כָּהֲנַיָּ֨/א וְ/לֵוָיֵ֜/א וּ/שְׁאָ֣ר בְּנֵי גָלוּתָ֗/א חֲנֻכַּ֛ת בֵּית אֱלָהָ֥/א דְנָ֖ה בְּ/חֶדְוָֽה	16	And the children of Israel, the priests, and the Levites, and the rest of the children of the captivity, kept the dedication of this house of God with joy, {the children of the captivity: Chaldee, the sons of the transportation}	وَبَنُو إِسْرَائِيلَ ٱلْكَهَنَةُ وَٱللَّاوِيُّونَ وَبَاقِي بَنِي ٱلسَّبْيِ دَشَّنُوا بَيْتَ ٱللهِ هَذَا بِفَرَحٍ.
וְ/הַקְרִ֗בוּ לַ/חֲנֻכַּת֮ בֵּית אֱלָהָ֣/א דְנָה֒ תּוֹרִ֣ין מְאָ֔ה דִּכְרִ֣ין מָאתַ֔יִן אִמְּרִ֖ין אַרְבַּ֣ע מְאָ֑ה וּ/צְפִירֵ֨י עִזִּ֜ין ל/חטיא לְ/חַטָּאָ֤ה עַל כָּל יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ תְּרֵֽי עֲשַׂ֔ר לְ/מִנְיָ֖ן שִׁבְטֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל	17	And offered at the dedication of this house of God an hundred bullocks, two hundred rams, four hundred lambs; and for a sin offering for all Israel, twelve he goats, according to the number of the tribes of Israel.	وَقَرَّبُوا تَدْشِينًا لِبَيْتِ ٱللهِ هَذَا: مِئَةَ ثَوْرٍ وَمِئَتَيْ كَبْشٍ وَأَرْبَعَ مِئَةِ خَرُوفٍ وَٱثْنَيْ عَشَرَ تَيْسَ مِعْزًى، ذَبِيحَةَ خَطِيَّةٍ عَنْ جَمِيعِ إِسْرَائِيلَ، حَسَبَ عَدَدِ أَسْبَاطِ إِسْرَائِيلَ.
וַ/הֲקִ֨ימוּ כָהֲנַיָּ֜/א בִּ/פְלֻגָּתְ/ה֗וֹן וְ/לֵוָיֵ/א֙ בְּ/מַחְלְקָ֣תְ/ה֔וֹן עַל עֲבִידַ֥ת אֱלָהָ֖/א דִּ֣י בִ/ירוּשְׁלֶ֑ם כִּ/כְתָ֖ב סְפַ֥ר מֹשֶֽׁה	18	And they set the priests in their divisions, and the Levites in their courses, for the service of God, which {is} at Jerusalem; as it is written in the book of Moses. {as it is...: Chaldee, according to the writing}	وَأَقَامُوا ٱلْكَهَنَةَ فِي فِرَقِهِمْ وَٱللَّاوِيِّينَ فِي أَقْسَامِهِمْ عَلَى خِدْمَةِ ٱللهِ ٱلَّتِي فِي أُورُشَلِيمَ، كَمَا هُوَ مَكْتُوبٌ فِي سِفْرِ مُوسَى.
וַ/יַּעֲשׂ֥וּ בְנֵי הַ/גּוֹלָ֖ה אֶת הַ/פָּ֑סַח בְּ/אַרְבָּעָ֥ה עָשָׂ֖ר לַ/חֹ֥דֶשׁ הָ/רִאשֽׁוֹן	19	And the children of the captivity kept the passover upon the fourteenth {day} of the first month.	وَعَمِلَ بَنُو ٱلسَّبْيِ ٱلْفِصْحَ فِي ٱلرَّابِعَ عَشَرَ مِنَ ٱلشَّهْرِ ٱلْأَوَّلِ.
כִּ֣י הִֽטַּהֲר֞וּ הַ/כֹּהֲנִ֧ים וְ/הַ/לְוִיִּ֛ם כְּ/אֶחָ֖ד כֻּלָּ֣/ם טְהוֹרִ֑ים וַ/יִּשְׁחֲט֤וּ הַ/פֶּ֨סַח֙ לְ/כָל בְּנֵ֣י הַ/גּוֹלָ֔ה וְ/לַ/אֲחֵי/הֶ֥ם הַ/כֹּהֲנִ֖ים וְ/לָ/הֶֽם	20	For the priests and the Levites were purified together, all of them {were} pure, and killed the passover for all the children of the captivity, and for their brethren the priests, and for themselves.	لِأَنَّ ٱلْكَهَنَةَ وَٱللَّاوِيِّينَ تَطَهَّرُوا جَمِيعًا. كَانُوا كُلُّهُمْ طَاهِرِينَ، وَذَبَحُوا ٱلْفِصْحَ لِجَمِيعِ بَنِي ٱلسَّبْيِ وَلِإِخْوَتِهِمِ ٱلْكَهَنَةِ وَلِأَنْفُسِهِمْ.
וַ/יֹּאכְל֣וּ בְנֵֽי יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל הַ/שָּׁבִים֙ מֵֽ/הַ/גּוֹלָ֔ה וְ/כֹ֗ל הַ/נִּבְדָּ֛ל מִ/טֻּמְאַ֥ת גּוֹיֵֽ הָ/אָ֖רֶץ אֲלֵ/הֶ֑ם לִ/דְרֹ֕שׁ לַֽ/יהוָ֖ה אֱלֹהֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל	21	And the children of Israel, which were come again out of captivity, and all such as had separated themselves unto them from the filthiness of the heathen of the land, to seek the LORD God of Israel, did eat,	وَأَكَلَهُ بَنُو إِسْرَائِيلَ ٱلرَّاجِعُونَ مِنَ ٱلسَّبْيِ مَعَ جَمِيعِ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱنْفَصَلُوا إِلَيْهِمْ مِنْ رَجَاسَةِ أُمَمِ ٱلْأَرْضِ، لِيَطْلُبُوا ٱلرَّبَّ إِلَهَ إِسْرَائِيلَ.
וַ/יַּֽעֲשׂ֧וּ חַג מַצּ֛וֹת שִׁבְעַ֥ת יָמִ֖ים בְּ/שִׂמְחָ֑ה כִּ֣י שִׂמְּחָ֣/ם יְהוָ֗ה וְֽ/הֵסֵ֞ב לֵ֤ב מֶֽלֶךְ אַשּׁוּר֙ עֲלֵי/הֶ֔ם לְ/חַזֵּ֣ק יְדֵי/הֶ֔ם בִּ/מְלֶ֥אכֶת בֵּית הָ/אֱלֹהִ֖ים אֱלֹהֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל	22	And kept the feast of unleavened bread seven days with joy: for the LORD had made them joyful, and turned the heart of the king of Assyria unto them, to strengthen their hands in the work of the house of God, the God of Israel.	وَعَمِلُوا عِيدَ ٱلْفَطِيرِ سَبْعَةَ أَيَّامٍ بِفَرَحٍ، لِأَنَّ ٱلرَّبَّ فَرَّحَهُمْ وَحَوَّلَ قَلْبَ مَلِكِ أَشُّورَ نَحْوَهُمْ لِتَقْوِيَةِ أَيْدِيهِمْ فِي عَمَلِ بَيْتِ ٱللهِ إِلَهِ إِسْرَائِيلَ.

וּ/כְ/כַלּ֣וֹת אֵ֗לֶּה נִגְּשׁ֨וּ אֵלַ֤/י הַ/שָּׂרִים֙ לֵ/אמֹ֔ר לֹֽא נִבְדְּל֞וּ הָ/עָ֤ם יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ וְ/הַ/כֹּהֲנִ֣ים וְ/הַ/לְוִיִּ֔ם מֵ/עַמֵּ֖י הָ/אֲרָצ֑וֹת כְּ֠/תוֹעֲבֹֽתֵי/הֶם לַ/כְּנַעֲנִ֨י הַ/חִתִּ֜י הַ/פְּרִזִּ֣י הַ/יְבוּסִ֗י הָֽ/עַמֹּנִי֙ הַ/מֹּ֣אָבִ֔י הַ/מִּצְרִ֖י וְ/הָ/אֱמֹרִֽי	1	Now when these things were done, the princes came to me, saying, The people of Israel, and the priests, and the Levites, have not separated themselves from the people of the lands, {doing} according to their abominations, {even} of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Jebusites, the Ammonites, the Moabites, the Egyptians, and the Amorites.	وَلَمَّا كَمَلَتْ هَذِهِ تَقَدَّمَ إِلَيَّ ٱلرُّؤَسَاءُ قَائِلِينَ: «لَمْ يَنْفَصِلْ شَعْبُ إِسْرَائِيلَ وَٱلْكَهَنَةُ وَٱللَّاوِيُّونَ مِنْ شُعُوبِ ٱلْأَرَاضِي حَسَبَ رَجَاسَاتِهِمْ، مِنَ ٱلْكَنْعَانِيِّينَ وَٱلْحِثِّيِّينَ وَٱلْفِرِزِّيِّينَ وَٱلْيَبُوسِيِّينَ وَٱلْعَمُّونِيِّينَ وَٱلْمُوآبِيِّينَ وَٱلْمِصْرِيِّينَ وَٱلْأَمُورِيِّينَ.
כִּֽי נָשְׂא֣וּ מִ/בְּנֹֽתֵי/הֶ֗ם לָ/הֶם֙ וְ/לִ/בְנֵי/הֶ֔ם וְ/הִתְעָֽרְבוּ֙ זֶ֣רַע הַ/קֹּ֔דֶשׁ בְּ/עַמֵּ֖י הָ/אֲרָצ֑וֹת וְ/יַ֧ד הַ/שָּׂרִ֣ים וְ/הַ/סְּגָנִ֗ים הָֽיְתָ֛ה בַּ/מַּ֥עַל הַ/זֶּ֖ה רִאשׁוֹנָֽה	2	For they have taken of their daughters for themselves, and for their sons: so that the holy seed have mingled themselves with the people of {those} lands: yea, the hand of the princes and rulers hath been chief in this trespass.	لِأَنَّهُمُ ٱتَّخَذُوا مِنْ بَنَاتِهِمْ لِأَنْفُسِهِمْ وَلِبَنِيهِمْ، وَٱخْتَلَطَ ٱلزَّرْعُ ٱلْمُقَدَّسُ بِشُعُوبِ ٱلْأَرَاضِي. وَكَانَتْ يَدُ ٱلرُّؤَسَاءِ وَٱلْوُلَاةِ فِي هَذِهِ ٱلْخِيَانَةِ أَوَّلًا».
וּ/כְ/שָׁמְעִ/י֙ אֶת הַ/דָּבָ֣ר הַ/זֶּ֔ה קָרַ֥עְתִּי אֶת בִּגְדִ֖/י וּ/מְעִילִ֑/י וָ/אֶמְרְטָ֞/ה מִ/שְּׂעַ֤ר רֹאשִׁ/י֙ וּ/זְקָנִ֔/י וָ/אֵשְׁבָ֖/ה מְשׁוֹמֵֽם	3	And when I heard this thing, I rent my garment and my mantle, and plucked off the hair of my head and of my beard, and sat down astonied.	فَلَمَّا سَمِعْتُ بِهَذَا ٱلْأَمْرِ مَزَّقْتُ ثِيَابِي وَرِدَائِي وَنَتَّفْتُ شَعْرَ رَأْسِي وَذَقْنِي وَجَلَسْتُ مُتَحَيِّرًا.
וְ/אֵלַ֣/י יֵאָסְפ֗וּ כֹּ֤ל חָרֵד֙ בְּ/דִבְרֵ֣י אֱלֹהֵֽי יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל עַ֖ל מַ֣עַל הַ/גּוֹלָ֑ה וַ/אֲנִי֙ יֹשֵׁ֣ב מְשׁוֹמֵ֔ם עַ֖ד לְ/מִנְחַ֥ת הָ/עָֽרֶב	4	Then were assembled unto me every one that trembled at the words of the God of Israel, because of the transgression of those that had been carried away; and I sat astonied until the evening sacrifice.	فَٱجْتَمَعَ إِلَيَّ كُلُّ مَنِ ٱرْتَعَدَ مِنْ كَلَامِ إِلَهِ إِسْرَائِيلَ مِنْ أَجْلِ خِيَانَةِ ٱلْمَسْبِيِّينَ، وَأَنَا جَلَسْتُ مُتَحَيِّرًا إِلَى تَقْدِمَةِ ٱلْمَسَاءِ.
וּ/בְ/מִנְחַ֣ת הָ/עֶ֗רֶב קַ֚מְתִּי מִ/תַּֽעֲנִיתִ֔/י וּ/בְ/קָרְעִ֥/י בִגְדִ֖/י וּ/מְעִילִ֑/י וָֽ/אֶכְרְעָ/ה֙ עַל בִּרְכַּ֔/י וָ/אֶפְרְשָׂ֥/ה כַפַּ֖/י אֶל יְהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהָֽ/י	5	And at the evening sacrifice I arose up from my heaviness; and having rent my garment and my mantle, I fell upon my knees, and spread out my hands unto the LORD my God, {heaviness: or, affliction}	وَعِنْدَ تَقْدِمَةِ ٱلْمَسَاءِ قُمْتُ مِنْ تَذَلُّلِي، وَفِي ثِيَابِي وَرِدَائِي ٱلْمُمَزَّقَةِ جَثَوْتُ عَلَى رُكْبَتَيَّ وَبَسَطْتُ يَدَيَّ إِلَى ٱلرَّبِّ إِلَهِي،
וָ/אֹמְרָ֗/ה אֱלֹהַ/י֙ בֹּ֣שְׁתִּי וְ/נִכְלַ֔מְתִּי לְ/הָרִ֧ים אֱלֹהַ֛/י פָּנַ֖/י אֵלֶ֑י/ךָ כִּ֣י עֲוֺנֹתֵ֤י/נוּ רָבוּ֙ לְ/מַ֣עְלָ/ה רֹּ֔אשׁ וְ/אַשְׁמָתֵ֥/נוּ גָדְלָ֖ה עַ֥ד לַ/שָּׁמָֽיִם	6	And said, O my God, I am ashamed and blush to lift up my face to thee, my God: for our iniquities are increased over {our} head, and our trespass is grown up unto the heavens. {trespass: or, guiltiness}	وَقُلْتُ: «ٱللَّهُمَّ، إِنِّي أَخْجَلُ وَأَخْزَى مِنْ أَنْ أَرْفَعَ يَا إِلَهِي وَجْهِي نَحْوَكَ، لِأَنَّ ذُنُوبَنَا قَدْ كَثُرَتْ فَوْقَ رُؤُوسِنَا، وَآثَامَنَا تَعَاظَمَتْ إِلَى ٱلسَّمَاءِ.
מִ/ימֵ֣י אֲבֹתֵ֗י/נוּ אֲנַ֨חְנוּ֙ בְּ/אַשְׁמָ֣ה גְדֹלָ֔ה עַ֖ד הַ/יּ֣וֹם הַ/זֶּ֑ה וּ/בַ/עֲוֺנֹתֵ֡י/נוּ נִתַּ֡נּוּ אֲנַחְנוּ֩ מְלָכֵ֨י/נוּ כֹהֲנֵ֜י/נוּ בְּ/יַ֣ד מַלְכֵ֣י הָ/אֲרָצ֗וֹת בַּ/חֶ֜רֶב בַּ/שְּׁבִ֧י וּ/בַ/בִּזָּ֛ה וּ/בְ/בֹ֥שֶׁת פָּנִ֖ים כְּ/הַ/יּ֥וֹם הַ/זֶּֽה	7	Since the days of our fathers {have} we {been} in a great trespass unto this day; and for our iniquities have we, our kings, {and} our priests, been delivered into the hand of the kings of the lands, to the sword, to captivity, and to a spoil, and to confusion of face, as {it is} this day.	مُنْذُ أَيَّامِ آبَائِنَا نَحْنُ فِي إِثْمٍ عَظِيمٍ إِلَى هَذَا ٱلْيَوْمِ. وَلِأَجْلِ ذُنُوبِنَا قَدْ دُفِعْنَا نَحْنُ وَمُلُوكُنَا وَكَهَنَتُنَا لِيَدِ مُلُوكِ ٱلْأَرَاضِي لِلسَّيْفِ وَٱلسَّبْيِ وَٱلنَّهْبِ وَخِزْيِ ٱلْوُجُوهِ كَهَذَا ٱلْيَوْمِ.
וְ/עַתָּ֡ה כִּ/מְעַט רֶגַע֩ הָיְתָ֨ה תְחִנָּ֜ה מֵ/אֵ֣ת יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵ֗י/נוּ לְ/הַשְׁאִ֥יר לָ֨/נוּ֙ פְּלֵיטָ֔ה וְ/לָ/תֶת לָ֥/נוּ יָתֵ֖ד בִּ/מְק֣וֹם קָדְשׁ֑/וֹ לְ/הָאִ֤יר עֵינֵ֨י/נוּ֙ אֱלֹהֵ֔י/נוּ וּ/לְ/תִתֵּ֛/נוּ מִֽחְיָ֥ה מְעַ֖ט בְּ/עַבְדֻתֵֽ/נוּ	8	And now for a little space grace hath been {shewed} from the LORD our God, to leave us a remnant to escape, and to give us a nail in his holy place, that our God may lighten our eyes, and give us a little reviving in our bondage. {space: Heb. moment} {a nail: or, a pin: that is, a constant and sure abode}	وَٱلْآنَ كَلُحَيْظَةٍ كَانَتْ رَأْفَةٌ مِنْ لَدُنِ ٱلرَّبِّ إِلَهِنَا لِيُبْقِيَ لَنَا نَجَاةً وَيُعْطِيَنَا وَتَدًا فِي مَكَانِ قُدْسِهِ، لِيُنِيرَ إِلَهُنَا أَعْيُنَنَا وَيُعْطِيَنَا حَيَاةً قَلِيلَةً فِي عُبُودِيَّتِنَا.
כִּֽי עֲבָדִ֣ים אֲנַ֔חְנוּ וּ/בְ/עַבְדֻ֔תֵ/נוּ לֹ֥א עֲזָבָ֖/נוּ אֱלֹהֵ֑י/נוּ וַֽ/יַּט עָלֵ֣י/נוּ חֶ֡סֶד לִ/פְנֵי֩ מַלְכֵ֨י פָרַ֜ס לָֽ/תֶת לָ֣/נוּ מִֽחְיָ֗ה לְ/רוֹמֵ֞ם אֶת בֵּ֤ית אֱלֹהֵ֨י/נוּ֙ וּ/לְ/הַעֲמִ֣יד אֶת חָרְבֹתָ֔י/ו וְ/לָֽ/תֶת לָ֣/נוּ גָדֵ֔ר בִּֽ/יהוּדָ֖ה וּ/בִ/ירוּשָׁלִָֽם	9	For we {were} bondmen; yet our God hath not forsaken us in our bondage, but hath extended mercy unto us in the sight of the kings of Persia, to give us a reviving, to set up the house of our God, and to repair the desolations thereof, and to give us a wall in Judah and in Jerusalem. {to repair: Heb. to set up}	لِأَنَّنَا عَبِيدٌ نَحْنُ، وَفِي عُبُودِيَّتِنَا لَمْ يَتْرُكْنَا إِلَهُنَا بَلْ بَسَطَ عَلَيْنَا رَحْمَةً أَمَامَ مُلُوكِ فَارِسَ، لِيُعْطِيَنَا حَيَاةً لِنَرْفَعَ بَيْتَ إِلَهِنَا وَنُقِيمَ خَرَائِبَهُ، وَلْيُعْطِيَنَا حَائِطًا فِي يَهُوذَا وَفِي أُورُشَلِيمَ.
וְ/עַתָּ֛ה מַה נֹּאמַ֥ר אֱלֹהֵ֖י/נוּ אַֽחֲרֵי זֹ֑את כִּ֥י עָזַ֖בְנוּ מִצְוֺתֶֽי/ךָ	10	And now, O our God, what shall we say after this? for we have forsaken thy commandments,	وَٱلْآنَ، فَمَاذَا نَقُولُ يَا إِلَهَنَا بَعْدَ هَذَا؟ لِأَنَّنَا قَدْ تَرَكْنَا وَصَايَاكَ
אֲשֶׁ֣ר צִוִּ֗יתָ בְּ/יַ֨ד עֲבָדֶ֣י/ךָ הַ/נְּבִיאִים֮ לֵ/אמֹר֒ הָ/אָ֗רֶץ אֲשֶׁ֨ר אַתֶּ֤ם בָּאִים֙ לְ/רִשְׁתָּ֔/הּ אֶ֤רֶץ נִדָּה֙ הִ֔יא בְּ/נִדַּ֖ת עַמֵּ֣י הָ/אֲרָצ֑וֹת בְּ/תוֹעֲבֹֽתֵי/הֶ֗ם אֲשֶׁ֥ר מִלְא֛וּ/הָ מִ/פֶּ֥ה אֶל פֶּ֖ה בְּ/טֻמְאָתָֽ/ם	11	Which thou hast commanded by thy servants the prophets, saying, The land, unto which ye go to possess it, is an unclean land with the filthiness of the people of the lands, with their abominations, which have filled it from one end to another with their uncleanness. {by: Heb. by the hand of} {from...: Heb. from mouth to mouth}	ٱلَّتِي أَوْصَيْتَ بِهَا عَنْ يَدِ عَبِيدِكَ ٱلْأَنْبِيَاءِ قَائِلًا: إِنَّ ٱلْأَرْضَ ٱلَّتِي تَدْخُلُونَ لِتَمْتَلِكُوهَا هِيَ أَرْضٌ مُتَنَجِّسَةٌ بِنَجَاسَةِ شُعُوبِ ٱلْأَرَاضِي، بِرَجَاسَاتِهِمِ ٱلَّتِي مَلَأُوهَا بِهَا مِنْ جِهَةٍ إِلَى جِهَةٍ بِنَجَاسَتِهِمْ.
וְ֠/עַתָּה בְּֽנוֹתֵי/כֶ֞ם אַל תִּתְּנ֣וּ לִ/בְנֵי/הֶ֗ם וּ/בְנֹֽתֵי/הֶם֙ אַל תִּשְׂא֣וּ לִ/בְנֵי/כֶ֔ם וְ/לֹֽא תִדְרְשׁ֧וּ שְׁלֹמָ֛/ם וְ/טוֹבָתָ֖/ם עַד עוֹלָ֑ם לְמַ֣עַן תֶּחֶזְק֗וּ וַ/אֲכַלְתֶּם֙ אֶת ט֣וּב הָ/אָ֔רֶץ וְ/הוֹרַשְׁתֶּ֥ם לִ/בְנֵי/כֶ֖ם עַד עוֹלָֽם	12	Now therefore give not your daughters unto their sons, neither take their daughters unto your sons, nor seek their peace or their wealth for ever: that ye may be strong, and eat the good of the land, and leave {it} for an inheritance to your children for ever.	وَٱلْآنَ فَلَا تُعْطُوا بَنَاتِكُمْ لِبَنِيهِمْ وَلَا تَأْخُذُوا بَنَاتِهِمْ لِبَنِيكُمْ، وَلَا تَطْلُبُوا سَلَامَتَهُمْ وَخَيْرَهُمْ إِلَى ٱلْأَبَدِ لِكَيْ تَتَشَدَّدُوا وَتَأْكُلُوا خَيْرَ ٱلْأَرْضِ وَتُورِثُوا بَنِيكُمْ إِيَّاهَا إِلَى ٱلْأَبَدِ.
וְ/אַֽחֲרֵי֙ כָּל הַ/בָּ֣א עָלֵ֔י/נוּ בְּ/מַעֲשֵׂ֨י/נוּ֙ הָ/רָעִ֔ים וּ/בְ/אַשְׁמָתֵ֖/נוּ הַ/גְּדֹלָ֑ה כִּ֣י אַתָּ֣ה אֱלֹהֵ֗י/נוּ חָשַׂ֤כְתָּֽ לְ/מַ֨טָּה֙ מֵֽ/עֲוֺנֵ֔/נוּ וְ/נָתַ֥תָּה לָּ֛/נוּ פְּלֵיטָ֖ה כָּ/זֹֽאת	13	And after all that is come upon us for our evil deeds, and for our great trespass, seeing that thou our God hast punished us less than our iniquities {deserve}, and hast given us {such} deliverance as this; {hast punished...: Heb. hast withheld beneath our iniquities}	وَبَعْدَ كُلِّ مَا جَاءَ عَلَيْنَا لِأَجْلِ أَعْمَالِنَا ٱلرَّدِيئَةِ وَآثَامِنَا ٱلْعَظِيمَةِ، لِأَنَّكَ قَدْ جَازَيْتَنَا يَا إِلَهَنَا أَقَلَّ مِنْ آثَامِنَا وَأَعْطَيْتَنَا نَجَاةً كَهَذِهِ،
הֲ/נָשׁוּב֙ לְ/הָפֵ֣ר מִצְוֺתֶ֔י/ךָ וּ֨/לְ/הִתְחַתֵּ֔ן בְּ/עַמֵּ֥י הַ/תֹּעֵב֖וֹת הָ/אֵ֑לֶּה הֲ/ל֤וֹא תֶֽאֱנַף בָּ֨/נוּ֙ עַד כַּלֵּ֔ה לְ/אֵ֥ין שְׁאֵרִ֖ית וּ/פְלֵיטָֽה	14	Should we again break thy commandments, and join in affinity with the people of these abominations? wouldest not thou be angry with us till thou hadst consumed {us}, so that {there should be} no remnant nor escaping?	أَفَنَعُودُ وَنَتَعَدَّى وَصَايَاكَ وَنُصَاهِرُ شُعُوبَ هَذِهِ ٱلرَّجَاسَاتِ؟ أَمَا تَسْخَطُ عَلَيْنَا حَتَّى تُفْنِيَنَا فَلَا تَكُونُ بَقِيَّةٌ وَلَا نَجَاةٌ؟
יְהוָ֞ה אֱלֹהֵ֤י יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ צַדִּ֣יק אַ֔תָּה כִּֽי נִשְׁאַ֥רְנוּ פְלֵיטָ֖ה כְּ/הַ/יּ֣וֹם הַ/זֶּ֑ה הִנְ/נ֤וּ לְ/פָנֶ֨י/ךָ֙ בְּ/אַשְׁמָתֵ֔י/נוּ כִּ֣י אֵ֥ין לַ/עֲמ֛וֹד לְ/פָנֶ֖י/ךָ עַל זֹֽאת	15	O LORD God of Israel, thou {art} righteous: for we remain yet escaped, as {it is} this day: behold, we {are} before thee in our trespasses: for we cannot stand before thee because of this.	أَيُّهَا ٱلرَّبُّ إِلَهَ إِسْرَائِيلَ، أَنْتَ بَارٌّ لِأَنَّنَا بَقِينَا نَاجِينَ كَهَذَا ٱلْيَوْمِ. هَا نَحْنُ أَمَامَكَ فِي آثَامِنَا، لِأَنَّهُ لَيْسَ لَنَا أَنْ نَقِفَ أَمَامَكَ مِنْ أَجْلِ هَذَا».

וּ/כְ/הִתְפַּלֵּ֤ל עֶזְרָא֙ וּ/כְ֨/הִתְוַדֹּת֔/וֹ בֹּכֶה֙ וּ/מִתְנַפֵּ֔ל לִ/פְנֵ֖י בֵּ֣ית הָ/אֱלֹהִ֑ים נִקְבְּצוּ֩ אֵלָ֨י/ו מִ/יִּשְׂרָאֵ֜ל קָהָ֣ל רַב מְאֹ֗ד אֲנָשִׁ֤ים וְ/נָשִׁים֙ וִֽ/ילָדִ֔ים כִּֽי בָכ֥וּ הָ/עָ֖ם הַרְבֵּה בֶֽכֶה	1	Now when Ezra had prayed, and when he had confessed, weeping and casting himself down before the house of God, there assembled unto him out of Israel a very great congregation of men and women and children: for the people wept very sore. {wept...: Heb. wept a great weeping}	فَلَمَّا صَلَّى عَزْرَا وَٱعْتَرَفَ وَهُوَ بَاكٍ وَسَاقِطٌ أَمَامَ بَيْتِ ٱللهِ، ٱجْتَمَعَ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ إِسْرَائِيلَ جَمَاعَةٌ كَثِيرَةٌ جِدًّا مِنَ ٱلرِّجَالِ وَٱلنِّسَاءِ وَٱلْأَوْلَادِ، لِأَنَّ ٱلشَّعْبَ بَكَى بُكَاءً عَظِيمًا.
וַ/יַּעַן֩ שְׁכַנְיָ֨ה בֶן יְחִיאֵ֜ל מִ/בְּנֵ֤י עולם עֵילָם֙ וַ/יֹּ֣אמֶר לְ/עֶזְרָ֔א אֲנַ֨חְנוּ֙ מָעַ֣לְנוּ בֵ/אלֹהֵ֔י/נוּ וַ/נֹּ֛שֶׁב נָשִׁ֥ים נָכְרִיּ֖וֹת מֵ/עַמֵּ֣י הָ/אָ֑רֶץ וְ/עַתָּ֛ה יֵשׁ מִקְוֶ֥ה לְ/יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל עַל זֹֽאת	2	And Shechaniah the son of Jehiel, {one} of the sons of Elam, answered and said unto Ezra, We have trespassed against our God, and have taken strange wives of the people of the land: yet now there is hope in Israel concerning this thing.	وَأَجَابَ شَكَنْيَا بْنُ يَحِيئِيلَ مِنْ بَنِي عِيلَامَ وَقَالَ لِعَزْرَا: «إِنَّنَا قَدْ خُنَّا إِلَهَنَا وَٱتَّخَذْنَا نِسَاءً غَرِيبَةً مِنْ شُعُوبِ ٱلْأَرْضِ. وَلَكِنِ ٱلْآنَ يُوجَدُ رَجَاءٌ لِإِسْرَائِيلَ فِي هَذَا.
וְ/עַתָּ֣ה נִֽכְרָת בְּרִ֣ית לֵ֠/אלֹהֵי/נוּ לְ/הוֹצִ֨יא כָל נָשִׁ֜ים וְ/הַ/נּוֹלָ֤ד מֵ/הֶם֙ בַּ/עֲצַ֣ת אֲדֹנָ֔/י וְ/הַ/חֲרֵדִ֖ים בְּ/מִצְוַ֣ת אֱלֹהֵ֑י/נוּ וְ/כַ/תּוֹרָ֖ה יֵעָשֶֽׂה	3	Now therefore let us make a covenant with our God to put away all the wives, and such as are born of them, according to the counsel of my lord, and of those that tremble at the commandment of our God; and let it be done according to the law. {to put...: Heb. to bring forth}	فَلْنَقْطَعِ ٱلْآنَ عَهْدًا مَعَ إِلَهِنَا أَنْ نُخْرِجَ كُلَّ ٱلنِّسَاءِ وَٱلَّذِينَ وُلِدُوا مِنْهُنَّ، حَسَبَ مَشُورَةِ سَيِّدِي، وَٱلَّذِينَ يَخْشَوْنَ وَصِيَّةَ إِلَهِنَا، وَلْيُعْمَلْ حَسَبَ ٱلشَّرِيعَةِ.
ק֛וּם כִּֽי עָלֶ֥י/ךָ הַ/דָּבָ֖ר וַ/אֲנַ֣חְנוּ עִמָּ֑/ךְ חֲזַ֖ק וַ/עֲשֵֽׂה	4	Arise; for {this} matter {belongeth} unto thee: we also {will be} with thee: be of good courage, and do {it}.	قُمْ فَإِنَّ عَلَيْكَ ٱلْأَمْرَ وَنَحْنُ مَعَكَ. تَشَجَّعْ وَٱفْعَلْ».
וַ/יָּ֣קָם עֶזְרָ֡א וַ/יַּשְׁבַּ֣ע אֶת שָׂרֵי֩ הַ/כֹּהֲנִ֨ים הַ/לְוִיִּ֜ם וְ/כָל יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל לַ/עֲשׂ֛וֹת כַּ/דָּבָ֥ר הַ/זֶּ֖ה וַ/יִּשָּׁבֵֽעוּ	5	Then arose Ezra, and made the chief priests, the Levites, and all Israel, to swear that they should do according to this word. And they sware.	فَقَامَ عَزْرَا وَٱسْتَحْلَفَ رُؤَسَاءَ ٱلْكَهَنَةِ وَٱللَّاوِيِّينَ وَكُلَّ إِسْرَائِيلَ أَنْ يَعْمَلُوا حَسَبَ هَذَا ٱلْأَمْرِ، فَحَلَفُوا.
וַ/יָּ֣קָם עֶזְרָ֗א מִ/לִּ/פְנֵי֙ בֵּ֣ית הָֽ/אֱלֹהִ֔ים וַ/יֵּ֕לֶךְ אֶל לִשְׁכַּ֖ת יְהוֹחָנָ֣ן בֶּן אֶלְיָשִׁ֑יב וַ/יֵּ֣לֶךְ שָׁ֗ם לֶ֤חֶם לֹֽא אָכַל֙ וּ/מַ֣יִם לֹֽא שָׁתָ֔ה כִּ֥י מִתְאַבֵּ֖ל עַל מַ֥עַל הַ/גּוֹלָֽה	6	Then Ezra rose up from before the house of God, and went into the chamber of Johanan the son of Eliashib: and {when} he came thither, he did eat no bread, nor drink water: for he mourned because of the transgression of them that had been carried away.	ثُمَّ قَامَ عَزْرَا مِنْ أَمَامِ بَيْتِ ٱللهِ وَذَهَبَ إِلَى مُخْدَعِ يَهُوحَانَانَ بْنِ أَلْيَاشِيبَ. فَٱنْطَلَقَ إِلَى هُنَاكَ وَهُوَ لَمْ يَأْكُلْ خُبْزًا وَلَمْ يَشْرَبْ مَاءً، لِأَنَّهُ كَانَ يَنُوحُ بِسَبَبِ خِيَانَةِ أَهْلِ ٱلسَّبْيِ.
וַ/יַּעֲבִ֨ירוּ ק֜וֹל בִּ/יהוּדָ֣ה וִ/ירֽוּשָׁלִַ֗ם לְ/כֹל֙ בְּנֵ֣י הַ/גּוֹלָ֔ה לְ/הִקָּבֵ֖ץ יְרוּשָׁלִָֽם	7	And they made proclamation throughout Judah and Jerusalem unto all the children of the captivity, that they should gather themselves together unto Jerusalem;	وَأَطْلَقُوا نِدَاءً فِي يَهُوذَا وَأُورُشَلِيمَ إِلَى جَمِيعِ بَنِي ٱلسَّبْيِ لِكَيْ يَجْتَمِعُوا إِلَى أُورُشَلِيمَ.
וְ/כֹל֩ אֲשֶׁ֨ר לֹֽא יָב֜וֹא לִ/שְׁלֹ֣שֶׁת הַ/יָּמִ֗ים כַּ/עֲצַ֤ת הַ/שָּׂרִים֙ וְ/הַ/זְּקֵנִ֔ים יָחֳרַ֖ם כָּל רְכוּשׁ֑/וֹ וְ/ה֥וּא יִבָּדֵ֖ל מִ/קְּהַ֥ל הַ/גּוֹלָֽה	8	And that whosoever would not come within three days, according to the counsel of the princes and the elders, all his substance should be forfeited, and himself separated from the congregation of those that had been carried away. {forfeited: Heb. devoted}	وَكُلُّ مَنْ لَا يَأْتِي فِي ثَلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ حَسَبَ مَشُورَةِ ٱلرُّؤَسَاءِ وَٱلشُّيُوخِ يُحَرَّمُ كُلُّ مَالِهِ، وَهُوَ يُفْرَزُ مِنْ جَمَاعَةِ أَهْلِ ٱلسَّبْيِ.
וַ/יִּקָּבְצ֣וּ כָל אַנְשֵֽׁי יְהוּדָה֩ וּ/בִנְיָמִ֨ן יְרוּשָׁלִַ֜ם לִ/שְׁלֹ֣שֶׁת הַ/יָּמִ֗ים ה֛וּא חֹ֥דֶשׁ הַ/תְּשִׁיעִ֖י בְּ/עֶשְׂרִ֣ים בַּ/חֹ֑דֶשׁ וַ/יֵּשְׁב֣וּ כָל הָ/עָ֗ם בִּ/רְחוֹב֙ בֵּ֣ית הָ/אֱלֹהִ֔ים מַרְעִידִ֥ים עַל הַ/דָּבָ֖ר וּ/מֵ/הַ/גְּשָׁמִֽים	9	Then all the men of Judah and Benjamin gathered themselves together unto Jerusalem within three days. It {was} the ninth month, on the twentieth {day} of the month; and all the people sat in the street of the house of God, trembling because of {this} matter, and for the great rain. {the great...: Heb. the showers}	فَٱجْتَمَعَ كُلُّ رِجَالِ يَهُوذَا وَبَنْيَامِينَ إِلَى أُورُشَلِيمَ فِي ٱلثَّلَاثَةِ ٱلْأَيَّامِ، أَيْ فِي ٱلشَّهْرِ ٱلتَّاسِعِ، فِي ٱلْعِشْرِينَ مِنَ ٱلشَّهْرِ، وَجَلَسَ جَمِيعُ ٱلشَّعْبِ فِي سَاحَةِ بَيْتِ ٱللهِ مُرْتَعِدِينَ مِنَ ٱلْأَمْرِ وَمِنَ ٱلْأَمْطَارِ.
וַ/יָּ֨קָם עֶזְרָ֤א הַ/כֹּהֵן֙ וַ/יֹּ֣אמֶר אֲלֵ/הֶ֔ם אַתֶּ֣ם מְעַלְתֶּ֔ם וַ/תֹּשִׁ֖יבוּ נָשִׁ֣ים נָכְרִיּ֑וֹת לְ/הוֹסִ֖יף עַל אַשְׁמַ֥ת יִשְׂרָאֵֽל	10	And Ezra the priest stood up, and said unto them, Ye have transgressed, and have taken strange wives, to increase the trespass of Israel. {have taken: Heb. have caused to dwell, or, have brought back}	فَقَامَ عَزْرَا ٱلْكَاهِنُ وَقَالَ لَهُمْ: «إِنَّكُمْ قَدْ خُنْتُمْ وَٱتَّخَذْتُمْ نِسَاءً غَرِيبَةً لِتَزِيدُوا عَلَى إِثْمِ إِسْرَائِيلَ.
וְ/עַתָּ֗ה תְּנ֥וּ תוֹדָ֛ה לַ/יהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֵֽי אֲבֹתֵי/כֶ֖ם וַ/עֲשׂ֣וּ רְצוֹנ֑/וֹ וְ/הִבָּֽדְלוּ֙ מֵ/עַמֵּ֣י הָ/אָ֔רֶץ וּ/מִן הַ/נָּשִׁ֖ים הַ/נָּכְרִיּֽוֹת	11	Now therefore make confession unto the LORD God of your fathers, and do his pleasure: and separate yourselves from the people of the land, and from the strange wives.	فَٱعْتَرِفُوا ٱلْآنَ لِلرَّبِّ إِلَهِ آبَائِكُمْ وَٱعْمَلُوا مَرْضَاتَهُ، وَٱنْفَصِلُوا عَنْ شُعُوبِ ٱلْأَرْضِ وَعَنِ ٱلنِّسَاءِ ٱلْغَرِيبَةِ».
וַ/יַּֽעְנ֧וּ כָֽל הַ/קָּהָ֛ל וַ/יֹּאמְר֖וּ ק֣וֹל גָּד֑וֹל כֵּ֛ן כ/דברי/ך כִּ/דְבָרְ/ךָ֥ עָלֵ֖י/נוּ לַ/עֲשֽׂוֹת	12	Then all the congregation answered and said with a loud voice, As thou hast said, so must we do.	فَأَجَابَ كُلُّ ٱلْجَمَاعَةِ وَقَالُوا بِصَوْتٍ عَظِيمٍ: «كَمَا كَلَّمْتَنَا كَذَلِكَ نَعْمَلُ.
אֲבָ֞ל הָ/עָ֥ם רָב֙ וְ/הָ/עֵ֣ת גְּשָׁמִ֔ים וְ/אֵ֥ין כֹּ֖חַ לַ/עֲמ֣וֹד בַּ/ח֑וּץ וְ/הַ/מְּלָאכָ֗ה לֹֽא לְ/י֤וֹם אֶחָד֙ וְ/לֹ֣א לִ/שְׁנַ֔יִם כִּֽי הִרְבִּ֥ינוּ לִ/פְשֹׁ֖עַ בַּ/דָּבָ֥ר הַ/זֶּֽה	13	But the people {are} many, and {it is} a time of much rain, and we are not able to stand without, neither {is this} a work of one day or two: for we are many that have transgressed in this thing. {we are many...: or, we have greatly offended in this thing}	إِلَا أَنَّ ٱلشَّعْبَ كَثِيرٌ، وَٱلْوَقْتَ وَقْتُ أَمْطَارٍ، وَلَا طَاقَةَ لَنَا عَلَى ٱلْوُقُوفِ فِي ٱلْخَارِجِ، وَٱلْعَمَلُ لَيْسَ لِيَوْمٍ وَاحِدٍ أَوْ لِٱثْنَيْنِ، لِأَنَّنَا قَدْ أَكْثَرْنَا ٱلذَّنْبَ فِي هَذَا ٱلْأَمْرِ.
יַֽעֲמְדוּ נָ֣א שָׂ֠רֵי/נוּ לְֽ/כָל הַ/קָּהָ֞ל וְ/כֹ֣ל אֲשֶׁ֣ר בֶּ/עָרֵ֗י/נוּ הַ/הֹשִׁ֞יב נָשִׁ֤ים נָכְרִיּוֹת֙ יָבֹא֙ לְ/עִתִּ֣ים מְזֻמָּנִ֔ים וְ/עִמָּ/הֶ֛ם זִקְנֵי עִ֥יר וָ/עִ֖יר וְ/שֹׁפְטֶ֑י/הָ עַ֠ד לְ/הָשִׁ֞יב חֲר֤וֹן אַף אֱלֹהֵ֨י/נוּ֙ מִמֶּ֔/נּוּ עַ֖ד לַ/דָּבָ֥ר הַ/זֶּֽה	14	Let now our rulers of all the congregation stand, and let all them which have taken strange wives in our cities come at appointed times, and with them the elders of every city, and the judges thereof, until the fierce wrath of our God for this matter be turned from us. {for this...: or, till this matter be dispatched}	فَلْيَقِفْ رُؤَسَاؤُنَا لِكُلِّ ٱلْجَمَاعَةِ. وَكُلُّ ٱلَّذِينَ فِي مُدُنِنَا قَدِ ٱتَّخَذُوا نِسَاءً غَرِيبَةً، فَلْيَأْتُوا فِي أَوْقَاتٍ مُعَيَّنَةٍ وَمَعَهُمْ شُيُوخُ مَدِينَةٍ فَمَدِينَةٍ وَقُضَاتُهَا، حَتَّى يَرْتَدَّ عَنَّا حُمُوُّ غَضَبِ إِلَهِنَا مِنْ أَجْلِ هَذَا ٱلْأَمْرِ».
אַ֣ךְ יוֹנָתָ֧ן בֶּן עֲשָׂהאֵ֛ל וְ/יַחְזְיָ֥ה בֶן תִּקְוָ֖ה עָמְד֣וּ עַל זֹ֑את וּ/מְשֻׁלָּ֛ם וְ/שַׁבְּתַ֥י הַ/לֵּוִ֖י עֲזָרֻֽ/ם	15	Only Jonathan the son of Asahel and Jahaziah the son of Tikvah were employed about this {matter}: and Meshullam and Shabbethai the Levite helped them. {were...: Heb. stood}	وَيُونَاثَانُ بْنُ عَسَائِيلَ وَيَحْزِيَا بْنُ تِقْوَةَ فَقَطْ قَامَا عَلَى هَذَا، وَمَشُلَّامُ وَشَبْتَايُ ٱللَّاوِيُّ سَاعَدَاهُمَا.
וַ/יַּֽעֲשׂוּ כֵן֮ בְּנֵ֣י הַ/גּוֹלָה֒ וַ/יִּבָּדְלוּ֩ עֶזְרָ֨א הַ/כֹּהֵ֜ן אֲנָשִׁ֨ים רָאשֵׁ֧י הָ/אָב֛וֹת לְ/בֵ֥ית אֲבֹתָ֖/ם וְ/כֻלָּ֣/ם בְּ/שֵׁמ֑וֹת וַ/יֵּשְׁב֗וּ בְּ/י֤וֹם אֶחָד֙ לַ/חֹ֣דֶשׁ הָ/עֲשִׂירִ֔י לְ/דַרְי֖וֹשׁ הַ/דָּבָֽר	16	And the children of the captivity did so. And Ezra the priest, {with} certain chief of the fathers, after the house of their fathers, and all of them by {their} names, were separated, and sat down in the first day of the tenth month to examine the matter.	وَفَعَلَ هَكَذَا بَنُو ٱلسَّبْيِ. وَٱنْفَصَلَ عَزْرَا ٱلْكَاهِنُ وَرِجَالٌ رُؤُوسُ آبَاءٍ، حَسَبَ بُيُوتِ آبَائِهِمْ، وَجَمِيعُهُمْ بِأَسْمَائِهِمْ، وَجَلَسُوا فِي ٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْأَوَّلِ مِنَ ٱلشَّهْرِ ٱلْعَاشِرِ لِلْفَحْصِ عَنِ ٱلْأَمْرِ.
וַ/יְכַלּ֣וּ בַ/כֹּ֔ל אֲנָשִׁ֕ים הַ/הֹשִׁ֖יבוּ נָשִׁ֣ים נָכְרִיּ֑וֹת עַ֛ד י֥וֹם אֶחָ֖ד לַ/חֹ֥דֶשׁ הָ/רִאשֽׁוֹן	17	And they made an end with all the men that had taken strange wives by the first day of the first month.	وَٱنْتَهَوْا مِنْ كُلِّ ٱلرِّجَالِ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّخَذُوا نِسَاءً غَرِيبَةً فِي ٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْأَوَّلِ مِنَ ٱلشَّهْرِ ٱلْأَوَّلِ.
וַ/יִּמָּצֵא֙ מִ/בְּנֵ֣י הַ/כֹּהֲנִ֔ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר הֹשִׁ֖יבוּ נָשִׁ֣ים נָכְרִיּ֑וֹת מִ/בְּנֵ֨י יֵשׁ֤וּעַ בֶּן יֽוֹצָדָק֙ וְ/אֶחָ֔י/ו מַֽעֲשֵׂיָה֙ וֶֽ/אֱלִיעֶ֔זֶר וְ/יָרִ֖יב וּ/גְדַלְיָֽה	18	And among the sons of the priests there were found that had taken strange wives: {namely}, of the sons of Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and his brethren; Maaseiah, and Eliezer, and Jarib, and Gedaliah.	فَوُجِدَ بَيْنَ بَنِي ٱلْكَهَنَةِ مَنِ ٱتَّخَذَ نِسَاءً غَرِيبَةً: فَمِنْ بَنِي يَشُوعَ بْنِ يُوصَادَاقَ وَإِخْوَتِهِ: مَعْشِيَّا وَأَلِيعَزَرُ وَيَارِيبُ وَجَدَلْيَا.
וַ/יִּתְּנ֥וּ יָדָ֖/ם לְ/הוֹצִ֣יא נְשֵׁי/הֶ֑ם וַ/אֲשֵׁמִ֥ים אֵֽיל צֹ֖אן עַל אַשְׁמָתָֽ/ם	19	And they gave their hands that they would put away their wives; and {being} guilty, {they offered} a ram of the flock for their trespass.	وَأَعْطَوْا أَيْدِيَهُمْ لِإِخْرَاجِ نِسَائِهِمْ مُقَرِّبِينَ كَبْشَ غَنَمٍ لِأَجْلِ إِثْمِهِمْ.
וּ/מִ/בְּנֵ֣י אִמֵּ֔ר חֲנָ֖נִי וּ/זְבַדְיָֽה	20	And of the sons of Immer; Hanani, and Zebadiah.	وَمِنْ بَنِي إِمِّيرَ: حَنَانِي وَزَبْدِيَا.
וּ/מִ/בְּנֵ֖י חָרִ֑ם מַעֲשֵׂיָ֤ה וְ/אֵֽלִיָּה֙ וּֽ/שְׁמַֽעְיָ֔ה וִ/יחִיאֵ֖ל וְ/עֻזִיָּֽה	21	And of the sons of Harim; Maaseiah, and Elijah, and Shemaiah, and Jehiel, and Uzziah.	وَمِنْ بَنِي حَارِيمَ: مَعْسِيَّا وَإِيلِيَّا وَشَمْعِيَا وَيَحِيئِيلُ وَعُزِّيَّا.
וּ/מִ/בְּנֵ֖י פַּשְׁח֑וּר אֶלְיוֹעֵינַ֤י מַֽעֲשֵׂיָה֙ יִשְׁמָעֵ֣אל נְתַנְאֵ֔ל יוֹזָבָ֖ד וְ/אֶלְעָשָֽׂה	22	And of the sons of Pashur; Elioenai, Maaseiah, Ishmael, Nethaneel, Jozabad, and Elasah.	وَمِنْ بَنِي فَشْحُورَ: أَلْيُوعِينَايُ وَمَعْسِيَّا وَإِسْمَاعِيلُ وَنَثَنْئِيلُ وَيُوزَابَادُ وَأَلْعَاسَةُ.
וּ/מִֽן הַ/לְוִיִּ֑ם יוֹזָבָ֣ד וְ/שִׁמְעִ֗י וְ/קֵֽלָיָה֙ ה֣וּא קְלִיטָ֔א פְּתַֽחְיָ֥ה יְהוּדָ֖ה וֶ/אֱלִיעֶֽזֶר	23	Also of the Levites; Jozabad, and Shimei, and Kelaiah, (the same {is} Kelita,) Pethahiah, Judah, and Eliezer.	وَمِنَ ٱللَّاوِيِّينَ: يُوزَابَادُ وَشِمْعِي وَقَلَايَا، هُوَ قَلِيطَا، وَفَتَحْيَا وَيَهُوذَا وَأَلِيعَزَرُ.
וּ/מִן הַ/מְשֹׁרְרִ֖ים אֶלְיָשִׁ֑יב וּ/מִן הַ/שֹּׁ֣עֲרִ֔ים שַׁלֻּ֥ם וָ/טֶ֖לֶם וְ/אוּרִֽי	24	Of the singers also; Eliashib: and of the porters; Shallum, and Telem, and Uri.	وَمِنَ ٱلْمُغَنِّينَ: أَلْيَاشِيبُ. وَمِنَ ٱلْبَوَّابِينَ: شَلُّومُ وَطَالَمُ وَأُورِي.
וּ/מִֽ/יִּשְׂרָאֵ֑ל מִ/בְּנֵ֣י פַרְעֹ֡שׁ רַ֠מְיָה וְ/יִזִּיָּ֤ה וּ/מַלְכִּיָּה֙ וּ/מִיָּמִ֣ן וְ/אֶלְעָזָ֔ר וּ/מַלְכִּיָּ֖ה וּ/בְנָיָֽה	25	Moreover of Israel: of the sons of Parosh; Ramiah, and Jeziah, and Malchiah, and Miamin, and Eleazar, and Malchijah, and Benaiah.	وَمِنْ إِسْرَائِيلَ مِنْ بَنِي فَرْعُوشَ: رَمْيَا وَيِزِّيَّا وَمَلْكِيَّا وَمِيَّامِينُ وَأَلْعَازَارُ وَمَلْكِيَّا وَبَنَايَا.
וּ/מִ/בְּנֵ֖י עֵילָ֑ם מַתַּנְיָ֤ה זְכַרְיָה֙ וִ/יחִיאֵ֣ל וְ/עַבְדִּ֔י וִ/ירֵמ֖וֹת וְ/אֵלִיָּֽה	26	And of the sons of Elam; Mattaniah, Zechariah, and Jehiel, and Abdi, and Jeremoth, and Eliah.	وَمِنْ بَنِي عِيلَامَ: مَتَّنْيَا وَزَكَرِيَّا وَيَحِيئِيلُ وَعَبْدِي وَيَرِيمُوثُ وَإِيلِيَّا.
וּ/מִ/בְּנֵ֖י זַתּ֑וּא אֶלְיוֹעֵנַ֤י אֶלְיָשִׁיב֙ מַתַּנְיָ֣ה וִֽ/ירֵמ֔וֹת וְ/זָבָ֖ד וַ/עֲזִיזָֽא	27	And of the sons of Zattu; Elioenai, Eliashib, Mattaniah, and Jeremoth, and Zabad, and Aziza.	وَمِنْ بَنِي زَتُّو: أَلْيُوعِينَايُ وَأَلْيَاشِيبُ وَمَتَّنْيَا وَيَرِيمُوثُ وَزَابَادُ وَعَزِيزَا.
וּ/מִ/בְּנֵ֖י בֵּבָ֑י יְהוֹחָנָ֥ן חֲנַנְיָ֖ה זַבַּ֥י עַתְלָֽי	28	Of the sons also of Bebai; Jehohanan, Hananiah, Zabbai, {and} Athlai.	وَمِنْ بَنِي بَابَايَ: يَهُوحَانَانُ وَحَنَنْيَا وَزَبَايُ وَعَثْلَايُ.
וּ/מִ/בְּנֵ֖י בָּנִ֑י מְשֻׁלָּ֤ם מַלּוּךְ֙ וַ/עֲדָיָ֔ה יָשׁ֖וּב וּ/שְׁאָ֥ל ירמות וְ/רָמֽוֹת	29	And of the sons of Bani; Meshullam, Malluch, and Adaiah, Jashub, and Sheal, and Ramoth.	وَمِنْ بَنِي بَانِي: مَشُلَّامُ وَمَلُّوخُ وَعَدَايَا وَيَاشُوبُ وَشَآلُ وَرَامُوثُ.
וּ/מִ/בְּנֵ֛י פַּחַ֥ת מוֹאָ֖ב עַדְנָ֣א וּ/כְלָ֑ל בְּנָיָ֤ה מַעֲשֵׂיָה֙ מַתַּנְיָ֣ה בְצַלְאֵ֔ל וּ/בִנּ֖וּי וּ/מְנַשֶּֽׁה	30	And of the sons of Pahathmoab; Adna, and Chelal, Benaiah, Maaseiah, Mattaniah, Bezaleel, and Binnui, and Manasseh.	وَمِنْ بَنِي فَحَثَ مُوآبَ: عَدْنَا وَكَلَالُ وَبَنَايَا وَمَعْسِيَّا وَمَتَّنْيَا وَبَصَلْئِيلُ وَبَنُّويُ وَمَنَسَّى.
וּ/בְנֵ֖י חָרִ֑ם אֱלִיעֶ֧זֶר יִשִּׁיָּ֛ה מַלְכִּיָּ֖ה שְׁמַֽעְיָ֥ה שִׁמְעֽוֹן	31	And {of} the sons of Harim; Eliezer, Ishijah, Malchiah, Shemaiah, Shimeon,	وَبَنُو حَارِيمَ: أَلِيعَزَرُ وَيِشِّيَّا وَمَلْكِيَّا وَشِمْعِيَا وَشِمْعُونُ
בְּנְיָמִ֥ן מַלּ֖וּךְ שְׁמַרְיָֽה	32	Benjamin, Malluch, {and} Shemariah.	وَبَنْيَامِينُ وَمَلُّوخُ وَشَمَرْيَا.
מִ/בְּנֵ֖י חָשֻׁ֑ם מַתְּנַ֤י מַתַּתָּה֙ זָבָ֣ד אֱלִיפֶ֔לֶט יְרֵמַ֥י מְנַשֶּׁ֖ה שִׁמְעִֽי	33	Of the sons of Hashum; Mattenai, Mattathah, Zabad, Eliphelet, Jeremai, Manasseh, {and} Shimei.	مِنْ بَنِي حَشُومَ: مَتَّنَايُ ومَتَّاثَا وزَابَادُ وَأَلِيفَلَطُ ويَرِيمَايُ وَمَنَسَّى وَشِمْعِي.
מִ/בְּנֵ֣י בָנִ֔י מַעֲדַ֥י עַמְרָ֖ם וְ/אוּאֵֽל	34	Of the sons of Bani; Maadai, Amram, and Uel,	مِنْ بَنِي بَانِي: مَعَدَايُ وَعَمْرَامُ وَأُوئِيلُ
בְּנָיָ֥ה בֵדְיָ֖ה כלהי כְּלֽוּהוּ	35	Benaiah, Bedeiah, Chelluh,	وَبَنَايَا وَبِيدْيَا وكَلُوهِي
וַנְיָ֥ה מְרֵמ֖וֹת אֶלְיָשִֽׁיב	36	Vaniah, Meremoth, Eliashib,	وَوَنْيَا وَمَرِيمُوثُ وَأَلْيَاشِيبُ
מַתַּנְיָ֥ה מַתְּנַ֖י ו/יעשו וְ/יַעֲשָֽׂי	37	Mattaniah, Mattenai, and Jaasau,	وَمَتَّنْيَا وَمَتَّنَايُ وَيَعْسُو
וּ/בָנִ֥י וּ/בִנּ֖וּי שִׁמְעִֽי	38	And Bani, and Binnui, Shimei,	وَبَانِي وَبِنُّويُ وَشِمْعِي
וְ/שֶֽׁלֶמְיָ֥ה וְ/נָתָ֖ן וַ/עֲדָיָֽה	39	And Shelemiah, and Nathan, and Adaiah,	وَشَلَمْيَا وَنَاثَانُ وَعَدَايَا
מַכְנַדְבַ֥י שָׁשַׁ֖י שָׁרָֽי	40	Machnadebai, Shashai, Sharai, {Machnadebai: or, Mabnadebai, according to some copies}	وَمَكْنَدْبَايُ وَشَاشَايُ وَشَارَايُ
